This pretty covered bridge on North Heath Road is a very short detour off the Mohawk Trail. The bridge is 92 feet long and spans Mill Brook. It’s in a picturesque setting. It was rebuilt in 1951 and has been kept in nice condition so it makes a good subject for photos. During my visit, the water level was pretty... More

This is an attractive covered bridge covering a fast moving rock lined stream. There is a little traveled road near the bridge that makes for pleasant short walks

There are more than a few bridges in the area and we made a day of it. The Bissell was in great shape and still in use. Not a great place to walk across kind of winding road. The back roads are great if you like a relaxed afternoon.

It's a well-maintained, still in use covered bridge. There really isn't anything more to tell about it.

If you are driving up the hill to the bridge, there is some parking if you veer to the right before the bridge and on the left hand side. You don't have to spend a long time hear but the waterfall and fall colors while I was there made it quite scenic. Great reason to break up a country drive.

I planned a trip to the New England area with my folks to see the leaves and covered bridges. This was the first I took them to. It was fun asking my hubby to take the turn off the main hwy and not far up the road was the Bissell Covered bridge! My dad was surprised. It was fun!

What this country need is more covered bridges. What we actually need is more bridges that don't fall down. Since the rebuilt Bissell Bridge is less than 10 years old, it will be around for a while. Besides, it's a handsome bridge that loves to have its picture taken.
