Cape Cod's favorite regional theater! Producing everything from new work and classic musicals to outdoor children's shows. Come Find us. Artists who wanted to develop a company dedicated to creativity and professionalism founded Cape Rep Theatre in 1986 and have worked hard to choose plays and musicals that continually challenge the artists who work here. We have two theatres on 7 acres of land in Nickerson State Park in Brewster: a 135-seat Indoor Theater and Cape Cod's only Outdoor Theatre, a 200-seat beauty. We produce a 5-play Indoor Theater season from May through December. During the summer, we use the Outdoor Theater for daytime children's shows and in the evening, we produce more mature fare "under the stars." We make a deliberate choice to bring in artists from outside our community to keep our vision broad, our company connected to the wider world and our productions as professional and creative as possible. We want to work with the best theater we can find. Often our choices are works that may not ordinarily be produced because we try not to let size of cast, degree of difficulty (or relative obscurity!) step in the way of choosing a show. And, most important, we have and will continue to produce new work. To all playwrights out there: we love producing new work!

The theatre is small and intimate and so you feel you're involved in the play yourself. The performance we saw was Merrily they go along. This was very well acted/sung, it turned out not to be our sort of play though. It was a harrowing...More

The entrance directly off Route 6A quickly turns into a narrow dirt road in dense foliage, but don't give up. A clearing provides parking and a short walk to the theater. The venue is small, but every one of the 100+ seats has a perfect...More

This is a repertory theater based in a former barn that has been converted into a decent, though very basic, performance space. We saw a new musical, "A New Brain", which I assume was in trials before moving on to Boston or elsewhere. It had...More

Had the opportunity to see their production of "Billy Elliot," with a few "old" friends in the cast. The production was very entertaining, and skillfully executed given the small performance space. The staff was proactively friendly and helpful and the venue itself is delightful.

It is difficult to find a better way to entertain oneself on Cape Cod. The beach may stimulate your skin, boating will bruise your bum, and fried clams will satisfy only until your cholesterol is checked. Cape Rep will exercise all your emotions: you will...More

We enjoyed a delightful family outing to the Cape Rep to see a well staged, professional performance of "Peter and the Starcatcher." This is a great opportunity to see quality, live theater on Cape Cod. The show is funny, high energy and a great evening...More

We were able to get last minute tickets for a show on a Sunday afternoon for "Peter and the Starcatcher." Great staging, actors did an admiral job. Very entertaining!

We went to see "Hairspray" and enjoyed the performance very, very much. The seats were comfortable and in an arrangement that made for "not a bad one in the house." The acoustics were excellent, too; the performers were not individually mic'd yet it was easy...More
