The Brewster Store is totally fascinating - Winter or Summer!! In Winter, sit by the huge stove, drink coffee, eat donuts and gossip with the locals. In the summer sit outdoors on the benches and do likewise.
Browse through the shelves, drawers, cupboards, jars and bottles and find objects you didn't know you needed, had forgotten existed or just simply must have. Step back in time 50 years or so and sample a true Cape Cod welcome from the staff and locals. Enjoy.

I love authentic general stores and the Brewster Store is a family favorite. Nothing says summer on Cape Cod like a stop by the Brewster Store for ice cream and candy. A must for any family vacation on the Cape.

Stepping in to this store was like entering a time warp & going back the the early part of last century. Picked up a hot coffee, morning paper and a breakfast pastry on a daily basis during a recent vacation stay in Brewster...and then enjoyed sitting on the bench outside the store reading the paper while enjoying my coffee.
A real treat to check out while in town.

The building housing this store was constructed in 1852, according to the Chamber of Commerce. It sells candy, baked goods, souvenirs, small toys, magazines, home decorating, soaps, kitchen items, post cards and greeting cards, and lots of miscellaneous, including wonderfully scented fir balsam pillows. There is a player piano with a plexiglas front which will play a tune for 25 cents. There's a video posted on youtube of this piano in action. The store appeals to a wide range of shoppers, from children to adults. Parking is very limited, and on busy days you might have to park on a side street.

The Brewster Store is celebrating it's 150 year anniversary this year. This is a general store that has a long and celebrated history. You will find unique items at every turn. Souvenirs, antiques, collector items, general merchandise, groceries, fresh coffee and bakery items along with a second floor that features more unique and unusual items, If you can't find it here, you probably don't need it. Just a wonderful place to browse and surprise yourself with items you haven't seen in years.

This is a gem not to be missed. Sit outside on the old pews and watch the world go by, grab some excellent ice cream at the Scoop, or check out the necessities and novelties inside this well preserved piece of history. A great family place- we have been visiting the Cape for years and always stop.

This is a "must see" if you are in the area - for old fashioned candy, local cranberries and cranberry candy, knick-knacks of all kinds and unusual items. Their fudge is also yummy, (we learned what penuche fudge is, thanks to a free sample and we bought some)and we ended up buying one of their sturdy rulers, another sturdy yard stick, (plus a custom-made cloth hanger for the yard stick - where else would you get one?) a mini puzzle, a wonderful glass penguin (they have lovely glass items throughout the store) and an artist's rendering of the store. Be sure to check the second floor where there is an amazing display of miniatures, a quilt from the 40's that showcases pilot escape routes, old battle ship models and other military miniatures, among other things. A nice manager was on deck when we visited. A great local institution.

A lot of interesting things to look at in this historic building, including, the building! It is one of the must see places
I bring friends who are visiting Brewster. I go every time I have the misfortune to break one of my blown glass globes for one of my oil lamps!

Great for gifts, candy, sweatshirts, tshirts and a trip down memory lane. Two floors of shopping, friendly staff.

No, not that I know of, but I don’t work there, I’m just a town resident and patron.
