Less than 24 miles from Boston, the fully restored Larcom Theatre is conveniently situated in downtown Beverly, MA -- 3 miles from Route 128 at 13 Wallis Street, with plenty of free parking (see map).

This gracious showplace -- featuring spectacular acoustics -- was built in 1912 (the same year as Fenway Park) by Harris and Glover Ware, two brothers and former vaudeville musicians from Marblehead, MA.

For their new theatre, which offered both stage and screen entertainment, they chose the birth site of one of America's most widely read nineteenth century poetesses, Lucy Larcom.

The Larcom Theatre's grand opening advertised that its interior was lit completely by electricity.

After seven years of wowing audiences with his turn-of-the-last-century-style stage magic production at the 1920 Cabot Street Cinema Theatre (just 4 blocks away), Cesareo Pelaez, the founder of the Le Grand David stage magic ensemble, led the purchase of the Larcom in 1984 and immediately set to work restoring its pristine beauty.

The Beverly Historical Society recognized Cesareo with an award for the integrity and authenticity of his restoration. When Cesareo finished his work there, the Larcom's elegant horseshoe balcony, hand-painted antique pressed tin ceilings and original silk wall coverings once again took you back in time to an age when American life moved more slowly and more deliberately.

Beginning with gimmeLIVE's sold-out 2013 Mardi Gras concert, the Larcom Theatre was filled with music for the first time since the days of Vaudeville.

In 2014, gimmeLIVE installed a state-of-the-art sound system featuring Meyer line arrays and subs, which is used for all concerts presented by gimmeLIVE.

Today, the Larcom Theatre offers concerts, theatrical productions and comedy presented by gimmeLIVE and Spectacle Management.

Historic old theatre.

The Larcom is one of two old vaudeville theatres in downtown Beverly. Both have been renovated and have live music shows. A great place.

The theater is old school retro in a nice way. The decor is beautiful. The sound system is good and the lighting is nice. Ample seating. The wine selection was good. Only two negatives (and neither is big deal) they don't sell coffee and they don't have a parking lot.

THis was our first experience in this newly renovated theatre. It is beautiful, very nicely done. The ballet company did an excellent performance. We are used to the BostonNutcracker at the Wang. This stage is smaller and the choreography was a little different, but it was a very enjoyable evening. THe dancers were veryalented

The seats I was sold for this show were in the balcony and my suggestion to the Larcom is they should be sold as 'obstructed view'. I was sitting on the aisle seat on the right side of the balcony and could only see the back left of the stage. Everything else was not viewable. Luckily the performance was not... More

Same wonderful old world theatre that has been bought by a local couple to continue to bring wonderful entertainment to the North Shore area. Very intimate venue. No bad seats. Just saw a Jimmy Buffet tribute by Changing Latitudes there last weekend. We had a very good time and hope that Donny and his wife have every success as they... More

Seatinf is comfortable. Good entertainment selections. And the restaurants in the area are great for before show meals. Parking is usually not a problem.

I found it amazing as to how they restored this whole theatre. It is a perfect cozy venue featuring great acts. Strong production by one of the great local producers. Lots of parking around the theatre so do not be discouraged by the street it is on. I saw John Cafferty and there is not a bad seat anywhere. Great... More
