Fabulous dancing! Appeals to everyone! A long way from our home, but every time we visit the Berkshires, we get a culture fix at Tanglewood, Williamstown Theater, The Clark Museum, and Jacob's Pillow! A beautiful environment, and superb dancing!

And so do women! Yep, dance is for everyone. And you don't have to know anything about dance to enjoy the Pillow experience. You just have to show up and open yourself to it. During the summer season there is always a major performance in the Ted Shawn Theater. For example, we saw the Hubbard Street Dance of Chicago, a... More

Always excellent performances. Get there early, walk the beautiful grounds, have a glass of wine and people watch! Sometimes we bring our own picnic, there are always plenty of tables around.

We always find a visit to Jacob's Pillow to be special. The grounds are beautiful, with very attractive gardens, and they book outstanding dance performers across multiple genres. There are two primary theaters on the premises. If you're not sure you would enjoy a dance performance, there are abbreviated short performances held outside on the "inside out" Stage; a risk... Whenever I'm in the area, I always catch a performance at Jacob's Pillow. It doesn't even matter what it is. They always have artists that are above the ordinary or expected. Every performance makes you gasp and think. I love the informational talks before each show. After the show, they emailed me additional information about the group I saw (Che... More

If you are in the Berkshires to enjoy any one of dozens of cultural venues, be sure this dance festival is on your MUST VISIT list. The Ted Shawn Theatre, built in 1942, was the first theatre in the United States designed specifically for dance. Take a free tour to learn the wonderful history of this venue. Exceptional dance from... More

Che Malambo, the Argentinian gaucho ensemble of 14 hot young men was SO entertaining. Good seats, picnic area, clean bathrooms and informative presentation before the show.

This is a magical place of dance in the Berkshire Mountains. Beautifully cared for, Jacob's Pillow doubles as a dance school and summer performance arts (dance) venue for many big ballet companies but also improvisational and international dance troupes. Lovely place to get a meal (couple of options here- one a very nice fine dining restaurant outside), have a cocktail... More

While the Berkshires has many quality cultural attractions, check out the beautiful setting and free dance performances at Jacobs Pillow outdoor dance. They offer free performances Wednesday through Saturday starting at 6:15 pm that last about 45 minutes. Bring a picnic and a nice bottle of wine and sit back and enjoy. Dinner is also offered under the large banquet... More
