We drove by this church on our way to the C&O Canal. We would have loved to stop in but were in a hurry. You can probably call the church to make an appointment for a tour of the beautiful church.

This is on a main street so it's easy to find. I thought it was worth a quick stop. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

St. Augustine is right on the main street in Williamsport,Md. It was established in 1851 and served as a Confederate hospital during the Civil War. It has beautiful stain glass windows which looked very old. It is a small community church and the masses on Saturday evening usually start at 6:30pm although when we went we noticed that a new sign was up saying the mass on Saturday was at 5:30pm. Mass on Sunday is as early as 8:30 am. Since it is a historic building not much has been done to enlarge it, however that doesn't mean you can't get the community and historical flavor from your experience. If in Williamsport even if not Catholic, a visit to this historic church is a must.
