I happened on the butterfly exhibit and was very pleased to be in their company. As soon as you enter the space, you are consumed with their calm, their beauty, and their notice of you! I will go back before it leaves.

The gardens here are open to the public free of charge. They are very very pretty and well maintained. The paths are paved and the walking is easy. We really enjoyed our time here. We saw turtles, chipmunks, geese and a variety of birds and butterflies. The grounds are just beautiful. They had a butterfly exhibit for a small fee... More

Brookside Gardens is a beautiful, immaculately maintained, formal garden run by Montgomery County. It features a Japanese pagoda, rock garden, labyrinth, and many trails, in addition to the greenhouse, planted raised beds and terraces, and abundant, varied trees and plants. It's a fabulous place to go for a picnic, long or short walk, or afternoon with children. Many special programs... More

We saw much greenery but many of the spring flowers were past their prime. It was a delightful walk and there are both sunny and shady spots and benches along the path to rest. The gardens were free but there is a charge for the butterfly garden. We did not opt for that. They tell you no food or drink... More

Our family has been coming here at least 4 times a year for the past 15 years. Just a street south of busy Randolph Rd. and 2 streets east of busier Georgia Ave., this 50-acre display garden is well maintained by our taxes and free to the public. It's 2 gated parking lots are supplemented by an access gate from... More

A very peaceful place to walk and enjoy nature. You can hardly believe it is sitting in the middle of such a busy area. The gardens are well done and woodland animals like chipmunks squirrels, turtles and birds are everywhere. Enjoy the butterflies in the gardens or visit the butterfly garden (charge for this). The conservatory is peaceful and tropical.... More

The three of us went to see the roses and they are in full bloom. We paid to go into the butterfly exhibit which was so fun and exciting. It is a wonderful garden to walk and benches to sit on. It is free to park and free to wander the garden paths. It's open every day except Christmas. It... More

Every step revealed another splended vista! And once we got to the formal gardens, we loved the fragrant garden, the rose garden, and the gazebos. We appreciated the shaded paths and the many benches where one could rest and enjoy the view. Of course, we paid the $8 adult admission for the butterfly chamber and marvelled at the bright colors...
