We visited the vineyard as part of a tour in Maryland with the Jolly Trolley. We met with the winemaker who gave us a tour of the facility. We learned more about the process of making wine in the 15 minutes we spent with him than all the time we’ve actually been living on a vineyard. The store was well stocked with all of their wines and the prices were very reasonable. There was a large tasting room and the staff was more than willing to have us taste a vast array of wines as many times as we wanted. All of their wines were delicious and we purchased a few bottles. Would have gone outside to see grapevines, but the weather prohibited that. We didn’t know what to expect when we saw a vineyard visit on the itinerary, but it was the highlight of the day.

$50 for two double sized tastings and a charcuterie board. Definitely value for money! Beware, if they get generous with the 5 2-ounce pours, you could be there a while waiting to sober up enough to drive home. But, we didn't mind as it was a wonderful day and the charcuterie board was yummy! One of the wines, Freedom, was definitely worth taking a few bottles back home. We were on a girls weekend and my BFF also took a bottle home. All in all, a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

Fun time! Wines were good. Service was friendly, prompt, and informative. It was just me, my husband, and son and we had a great time listening to music, drinking wine (just me and my husband), playing with the dog, and playing cornhole. That was a Monday afternoon. I can’t imagine the fun to be had on a weekend. Highly recommend!!

I spent an amazing afternoon at Layton’s Chance Winery! Winemaker William Layton and his lovely wife Jennifer are doing some serious winemaking on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They use a lot of Norton, Chambourcin, Vidal, Cab Franc, and Traminette grapes. The wines all highlight the unique characteristics of the grapes. No “uppity” complexities here. Just delicious, honest, true to-the-fruit wines. Their Freedom wine, which honors Harriet Tubman (proceeds going to the park visitor’s center) , and the United wine which gives to United Way, are perfect examples of how small business gives back to the community. If you’re ever on the Eastern Show of Maryland, this is a ”must visit “ location!

I attended a great couples baby shower in the party room at Layton's chance. The room is very accommodating, and perfect for 30-50 people. It was perfect. The staff was very helpful with whatever we needed or wanted. The weather was just great and we were able to be outside if we wanted to be.

We had a great day at Layton's Chance. They are practicing safe protocols for COVID-19 and we felt very safe! We did a tasting that included 6 wines (we chose the sweet variety), cheese and crackers, and chocolate. We also tried the slushies which were amazing! We took home a few bottles of wine and will be back for sure.

Wine flights are served in a unique way. Enjoyed all but one of the ones I chose. We even bought a bottle of a white. It was hot and humid so we stayed indoors. Nothing fancy, just a nice and friendly wine stop on your way to Easton, MD.

My husband and I, along with friends, spent a wonderful Mother’s Day at Layton’ Chance Vineyard. The wine, atmosphere and musical duo could not have been any nicer. The layout of the venue was great. Also, our luncheon catered by Emily’s Produce was scrumptious! I give the entire afternoon a 5 star rating.

Really enjoyed our visit to Laytons today. Becka was the perfect host, extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The premium wine tasting is worth it. Norton was one of my favorites. Ask about the history of the farm and the family that operates the vineyard. Beautiful location, lots of open skies....blues and greens. A wonderful patio filled with rocking chairs to relax and enjoy a glass. My husband (non wine drinker) loved the peach slushie wine. A great place to linger.

Hubby and I stopped in Maryland to visit our future home and I mentioned checking out a winery. We checked the web and came across the Layton’s Chance Winery. I saw the Freedom wine and knew I wanted to try it. After our tasting and 7 purchased bottles later, we’re good. Barb waited on us and we met a very nice local couple. The Freedom wine is my Favorite. We signed up for the Gold Members Club as well. Great day, great service and Awesome Wine. Will definitely be back.
