Meeting the delightful owners of the Tilghman Island Marina and sharing our stories and learning all about the “lay of the land”. Just a great well-protected spot in the Knapp’s Narrows inlet.

The boat, location, and service were all 5 stars! To start, I would like to clarify that this was my husband's and my first time riding a boat so we were both definitely at the beginner's level. The office was easy to find and is located in a cute little nook. As soon as we got there, they checked us in very efficiently and gave us materials to read. The materials may seem overwhelming at first but they did a great job in incorporating images that were really helpful in grasping the concepts. Captain Ron did an incredible job in explaining how to read charts. He was extremely thorough and very patient with all our questions. Again, looking at the chart may seem overwhelming at first, but Captain Ron's thorough explanation made us feel like we were expert boaters by the end of our ride! We took out boat #5 which was the perfect size for me, my husband, and our 48-pound goldendoodle. The sights were amazing!!! Our favorite part was the lone lighthouse located southwest off the tip of the bay. Being out there was so incredible! We even went back there again after boating around the bay since we still had some time to spare. When we went there the first time around 1 PM, there were about 4 boats out there but it was still so tranquil. The second time, however, was really amazing because our boat was the only one there so we were able to do some drone shots. We didn't have time to get some food during our boat ride (there is a restaurant along one of the coves where you can dock your boat and get some food), but it looked good. All in all, it was truly a wonderful experience!!!

Response from Captain Ron C, Owner at Tilghman Island Marina

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a generous/kind review Karina. We have hundreds of boat rentals each year with most folks expressing great appreciation for our detailed orientation process however it is rare for them to actually leave a single review let alone one on several different review websites. Nancy & I do remember you guys and very much appreciated your desire to learn and practice safe boating. We hope to see you back next year. Until then, take care and have a pleasant winter, Ron & Nancy.

This would be a 5-star marina if the wifi worked. Nice long floating dock for transients lets you enjoy the boat traffic heading to and from Knapp’s Narrows drawbridge. Busy on Labor Day weekend, but draws friendly, family-oriented boaters. Marker 5 is a great restaurant at the edge of the marina and is worth a visit on its own merits. We ate dinner there twice and found the food fresh, tasty and moderately priced. Other restaurants near the bridge and within walking distance. Will return.

We've stopped at Tilghman Island Marina 4 times in the last 2 years. We've always been warmly welcomed by Capt. Ron and his wife Nancy. The marina is clean, the views are beautiful, and it's fun to hop in the pool after a long sail. They can easily accommodate sailboats (and powerboats) with 5'+ draught and the Knapps Narrows was recently dredged to 9'+. There are 30 amp electrical boxes aswell as an easily accessible T pier for overnight stays. Walking distance to good restaurants and the island's general store. We look forward to coming back next year!
