Captain Wade will tell you how the other skipjack charters charge much more and you'll probably get crammed in with a crowd. He does this for the love of it. He makes a point of going around to everyone on the boat to make sure they're happy and engaged. He's entertaining and the real deal. His thick Eastern Shore accent... More

Folks, Captain Wade is interesting, entertaining, and knowledgeable about the ecology of the Bay. You'll get to hoist the sail and man the helm. We've been many times. It's a don't miss if you're in the area. Take your cooler and snacks. We were down over the 4th of July with our grandson (9yrs old) and he got to steer.... More

i have sailed at least three times with captain wade since i started visiting the area 20 years ago from ohio, and each time is a memorable experience! in fact his prices are still the same from my first outing on the "rebecca" in 2000! His stories about the boat, his life as a waterman, family and the ecology of... More

Capt. Wade Murphy is awesome, he is a walking history book of the Tilghman Island area of the Chesapeke Bay on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He has a way to teach the people that rides with him on a afternoon or a sunset cruise, he encourages kids and adults alike to participate raising the mast to taking his baby... More

Frankly, while Captain Wade was a charming and friendly host, he did not share much insight and as much knowledge about oysters and oystering and being a waterman that I had hoped to hear. The area has a lot of history and I would have enjoyed hearing more about it rather than about his immediate family. The trip took us... More

Really enjoyed hearing Capt Wade tell his stories about his experiences in the seafood harvesting business, his boat which was built in 1886, sunk in a storm and recovered. His grandson is a terrific first mate! Time well spent and a good value!

Captain Murphy is a charismatic with a great sense of humor. He's seen a lot in his lifetime of boating and if you choose "education" over "silence" when you're out on the water, he'll share countless amazing stories about the boat you're sailing on and the bay itself. Everyone on our trip of five guests got a chance to either... More

Have gone out with Captain Murphy a few times. All good times. Murphy is a real waterman and a character. We allways enjoy his stories and history of the area and the Chesapeake Bay.

Perfect way to get out on the water and to learn about the life on the skipjack. Beautifully restored all wooden vessel and Captain was an expert with great stories that gave reassurance to continued oyster survival in the bay. He gave a really good history of environmental issues in the bay and made it all enjoyable.

Bring your own sandwiches and drinks. Capn Wade is wonderful! He let my daughter steer the boat. He's been doing this for 50 years!
