My wife and I attended a Towson University Alumni event at the Vineyard. A Beatles tribute band, Saving Sergeant Pepper, played during the event. The band was good, but not great.

There was plenty of green space for our chairs and the grounds are very attractive.

We bought a bottle of Riesling to share while we listened to the music. It was a little sweet, but was still pretty enjoyable. We bought another bottle to take home, along with a bottle of the Vidal Blanc. The wine prices were reasonable, and they were not increased for the event.

I only have one complaint. There were probably 100-200 people in attendance, and only one indoor bathroom for women, and one outdoor port-a-pot for the men. For this many people, there needs to be an appropriate increase in sanitary facilities.

This was my first time going to a wine tasting so I really didn't know what to expect. We had a groupon deal for wine tasting with cheese plate. The person serving the wine only started working there a few months ago, so didn't really know much about wine or the process. That was a disappointment since I think it would have been interesting to learn more about what makes their wine special. I didn't like most of the wine I tasted because it was too dry and bitter (which I've been told is typical of Maryland wine), but did end up buying a bottle just for keepsake. I think they could have shown a slight more effort with the cheese plate, like for example serve it in anything else than just a pixe paper plate covered in plastic wrap. It consisted of a few slices of 3-4 different cheese, one strawberry, 4 grapes. The nice thing was receiving free wine glasses as part of our groupon deal. We had a good deal w/ groupon, but I don't think it would have been worth it to pay the full price considering the overall experience.

Enjoyed a relaxing afternoon enjoying a wide range of wines while listening to Bert and Lynn share their history of he winery. Wines were mostly in the European vs. California style. Cabs were good, but my favorites were the Port and a very light, but fruity Riesling.

My coworkers have praised this winery so my husband and I decided to give it a try. The tasting room, which is dark and dingy, was full. There were 4 tasting stations and 3 or 4 groups of people waiting around in the center of the room. We exchanged glances with some of the other people who were milling around as if to say, "Do you know how this works?" I get you are busy, but there still needs to be an effort by employees to greet and indicate that you, the customer, will be taken care of. We decided to move on to another vineyard, which was an enjoyable experience.

Their tasting is very expensive and even if you go with a coupon (groupon) it is still a rip off. the "pours" are more like sips, and I could not taste enough wine to figure out if I liked it. There were no wines worth buying and I'm not that fussy!! In addition to the small pours, we had to pick only a few wines from the list (even though we paid a lot of money for a tasting!) so my husband and I tried different wines. As a result, we couldn't really agree on wines and buy a bunch of bottles like we normally do. That really ruined the enjoyment for me. Wouldnt you rather discuss the wines with the person you go with? Their set up is not conducive to that . So it was their loss, as their nasty stingy policies just hurt them in the end.
I totally believe others who said they gave them plastic glasses and so forth, as I agree, we were shuffled in and out in a very unfriendly manner (again, considering my friends and I dropped a LOT of money on this place.)
Not worth a return trip. I'll go somewhere else, where I can taste the wine!!

Myself, and three other lady friends went on this excursion using the Groupon I purchased. The price was 50% off what the original price is which made it a reasonable cost for the four of us, This winery is a bit out of the way but I had mapped it before we went and found a very nice back roads route that made the journey to the destination as much of an enjoyable adventure as did the event itself. We arrived on time at approximately 1:30 and were able to easily pull in to park on the gravel drive outside of the pavilion and the building where the tasting took place. There were a few groups finishing their tasting as we were arriving and the building is not a large building so maneuvering inside of the building required everyone to be courteous which is what everyone was. We spoke to the cashier to our immediate left as we walked in and she pointed us in the direction of the counter to her immediate left to check our group in. The person behind that counter had our names already on the schedule and gave each of us a "Wine & Cheese Pairing Menu", We moved from that counter to the counter to the immediate right where four of us stood in front where two plates of cheeses were covered with plastic wrap. Our hostess was Robin who then began to explain to us that four wines had been chosen for us to taste on our menu and then we were to pick four more wines we would like to taste. While she was explaining the process of choosing the wines we had began to eat some of the cheese. We were actually suppose to wait to eat the cheeses with particular wines so we stopped and waited, (silly us...) We all chose mostly the "Sweets" wines. Robin started at the top of the list which was a Dry White wine. She explained to us why one cheese tastes better with the wine than another and how it should taste when we eat the cheese with the wine. She was very knowledgeable in her wine and made the experience a good education for all of us. We went through the Dry White wine, then the Dry Red Wines and then to the Sweet wines all the while tasting a particular cheese with it and eating crackers. She also offered us a premier wine tasting which was for an additional $1.00 extra. We all went for that which this turned out to be a very nice wine too. The tasting was over before we knew it and we were all laughing and discussing the different wines and what we liked. Next we went back to the counter that was now on our immediate left and each of us purchased a bottle of wine we liked best and received free wine glasses as was part of the package. I think we all enjoyed this experience and I look forward to doing more of these at other wineries. I also think this was a great way to see what the Basignani Winery had to offer since I had never bought their wines before.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderfully, detailed review. We are thrilled you decided to try us after finding us on Groupon and thoroughly enjoyed your overall visit. Here at Basignani we aim to not only have our guests enjoy our wine, but to also be educational and help describe why certain cheeses (or food) pairs best with the type of wine. It is so great you purchased a bottle on your way out and we hope you continue to enjoy Basignani Wines whenever you can. Please visit us again in the summer time to get another experience that we are known for! Take care.

My husband and I recently visited and have mixed feelings about the visit. On the bright side, we did like the wines we tasted. Our wine tasting fee ($5 I think) allowed us to select 6 wines so we each chose different wines to get a diverse sampling. Having visited many wineries in Maryland and Virginia, the wines were pretty good. As someone who makes sangria at home, I did enjoy their bottled sangria and my husband really enjoyed Eric's Big Zin - I actually enjoyed some of the sangria last night. The grounds outside are nice and offer ample seating to enjoy your wine and take in the sun. On the not so bright side, the tasting room is a bit cluttered and has dogs walking around. I am allergic to dogs so did not enjoy the one dog that kept coming over to rub up on my leg. Also, the wine tasting pours were on the small side. If they declutter, get rid of the dogs and offer more substantial pours, I think the place could be great. They offer brick oven pizza/movie nights on Fridays during the summer so the place definitely has potential.

First time to this winery, in Sparks, two lane winding road. Parking not real convenient, may be in mud. Staff not customer oriented, dusty and dingy inside. Wines tried were adequate.

We headed to the winery for the Friday movie night. Their brick oven pizza is SO delicious and it was fun tasting all of the different wines. We got a bottle of their Riesling to enjoy during the movie. Overall, it was a fun evening with great wine and pizza!

We came here and enjoyed our visit very much. We loved the cheese plate and the local made chocolate! I wish the seating area was a little more organized and prettier!
