I've lived in Silver spring for nine years. this downtown area has no appeal for me and most Americans at all. If you are an immigrant and don't know the difference between McDonald's and a neighborhood restaurant then this is the place for you. But...More

Great weekend activities, shopping, healthcare, social services. Constant building projects, always growing. Need car repair at reasonable cost? Meineke is great. The place to be!

Back in the day: I remember when Downtown Silver Spring was a sleepy, somewhat seedy part of the County. My, my, my: how it has come of age. Plenty of shopping, a broad range of ethnic restaurants and stores, a hippish vibe but not off-putting...More

Great place to shop and dine on a summer weekend. Close to DC, so you can stay in the City and shop in Silver Spring. Also, catch a movie. Lots yo see and do.

It was pretty chilly outside so our options were limited, but this area gave us a few shopping options, restaurant choices and a generally nice area to walk around and get some fresh air.

Downtown Silver Springs sports an old architecture. Imagine an edgy, outer space, 90s retro vibe. Not allowed of money pumped into the area, however the markets and people make up for that. During the weekends, markets pop up, representing various cultures, foods, and free concerts.
