Nice little local zoo to take the kids to for an afternoon. Great for all age kids and adults too! They have a nice variety of animals.

Part of the Salisbury park system. Free and complete with playground on one end. Great fun. Leisurely amble through a parklike setting.

Great outing for kids. Exhibits were well marked and maintained, zoo was clean. Parking was easy. It’s a small zoo that operates by donations. Restrooms were clean and wheelchair accessible. Nice gift shop and snack/food stand, too! 10am-2pm seems to be the sweet spot if you want to see staff with animals and find everything open. Community park (Ben’s Red Swing) adjoins the zoo - don’t miss that too!

A nicely paved walking path and directional signs made for an enjoyable visit. The park is very clean, as were the animal pens. The bathrooms were even clean, which for women is a huge plus!! There wasn't a big variety of animals, but enough to keep us interested. The setting; landscaping, water areas, and plants were well maintained and attractive. It didn't have that cement, city feel. Plenty of benches were throughout the area for those needing a break or just wishing to watch the animals. The zoo is free, but donations are accepted and I would recommend this as the zoo obviously needs donations to help with upkeep. A large playground, park, and picnic area is at the end, which was a great place for us to rest and the kids to continue their play.

This was near the halfway point in our journey. We stopped to stretch our legs and let the kids use the adjacent playground, then walked over to the zoo. I did not expect much of a free zoo -- I was pleasantly surprised! Really lovely, treed walk through thoughtful enclosures. The animals were visible but did not seem stressed.

Small Zoo but lots to do and see, Free of charge. A good way to spend the afternoon. Due to COVID some of the animals and exhibits are not open.

OK, this is a free zoo, but even with that, I expected to see more than just a few animals. Several exhibits were closed for renovation and only a handful of animals were there to see. I could very nearly count the animals we saw on one hand if I excluded the ducks! Additionally, all the benches were taped off due to Covid, so there was not place to sit. Perhaps this is a premium place to visit during good times, but I'd recommend not making this zoo a destination trip anytime soon.

A free zoo, but it could be better, even though we enjoyed our visit. Several pathways and the west entrance were closed due to COVID concerns - considering this is outside, I think those concerns were overblown a bit, especially since the zoo store was open! Because the east entrance is the only one open, parking can be a bit hard to find.

First started visiting this great zoo back in 1999 while living on the Eastern Shore for a few years and raising our family. The variety of animals as well as programming are top notch, especially for a donation based facility. Fast forward 20+ years and it has maintained its charm as well as commitment to both the residents as well as surrounding community.

My husband had a random Sunday off for the first time in a long time, so we used the free morning to head to the Salisbury Zoo. This zoo is free, so right off the bat, the price is fantastic to get in. The zoo had a lot of sections roped off, so you could only walk around the zoo in one direction. Unfortunately, due to covid, some of the zoo was blocked off, so their was no access to the spider monkeys, jaguar or reptiles. Despite the negatives, a lot of animals were active including the Andean bears, flamingoes, bison, birds, alpacas, and wallaby's - those are just a few of the animals that the Salisbury Zoo has to offer. For the size of the zoo and the size of town it's in, it had a good variety to offer. The zoo offers a small gift shop. We took about 45 minutes to make it through the zoo and just because, we went through the whole zoo a second time. Make sure to pay attention to the current times as they close for an 1.5 hours to clean. Upon leaving, I did notice a few who arrived 20 minutes before the Covid cleaning closing and did not seem very happy.
