While this zoo is somewhat small, it has a great variety of animals, and almost all the walkways are shaded by trees, which makes so much more comfortable to walk around with children! We always visit the incredible playground - Ben's Red Swings - after looking at the animals and that is always a blast!

The Salisbury Zoo is situated in a city park. The pathways are wide and easy to stroll. The zoo is an AZA accredited facility. Whether you are looking for an activity close to your home or something different to do on vacation the zoo is a fun place to wander. It is nice if you are solo or in a... More

Great zoo in Salisbury. Easy access for strollers and good variety of animals. Nice park nearby. Zoo is pretty shady with mature tall trees. Good variety of birds. Will visit again.

Not trying to get preachy about animals in a zoo BUT to me this was on the sad side . Small public zoo, free admission and parking. Not well kept. Hoping locals read this and volunteer to help out . Needs landscaping , garbage pick up, and some updating. Enclosures are small , saw some pacing unhappy animals. Not sure... More

First off: this place is FREE! And typically, free zoos can last an hour and you may only see one animal at best. But we had a great time here and saw almost every single animal on display! We are married and are about 30, and still had an AWESOME time (but we are huge animal lovers!). This was a... More

I love zoos, however they are extremely depressing sometimes, especially when its extremely hot out, like it is now in august... The salisbury zoo does a great job of taking care of the animals and we always have an nice time at bens red swings.

My family and I needed a break from the beach so we decided to head to Salisbury to check out the Zoo. The zoo is totally free but they suggest a donation (no one will bug you to donate) so we gave $10. The Zoo will take about an hour or two to navigate and it has a decent amount... More

The Salisbury Zoo is one of the best zoos my family has ever visited. They operate on donations from visitors. So there is no actual set admission prices. You give what you feel is appropriate. There is a large variety of animals to see. We also visited their snack stand which was very reasonably priced. The gift shop also had... More

The zoo is mostly birds. They need to do something about all the grass. Some places are too thick with vegetation.

Go here a lot since it's not too far from where I live, and it's a nice place to walk and always cool to see the animals, but it's definitely on the smaller size. Sometimes I feel bad, because some of the animals don't seem to have much room, but they've always appeared well taken care of. It is free... More
