A great day on the water. Captain Ed provided both an informative and entertaining history of life on the bay and of working watermen. And, as a model boat builder, I was allowed to see first hand all the details and interior work helpful in model building. Highly recommend.

We spent a delightful afternoon sailing aboard the H.M. Krentz with Captain Ed Farley in late September 2016. The Krentz is in very good condition - clean, well-painted, equipment neatly stowed, and a brand new sail. It may be trite, but it was "ship shape". There was nothing trite about the sailing itself, though. Captain Ed is a seasoned salt.... More

Our sail on a working Skipjack was one the highlights of our MD eastern shore trip. The Captain has been doing it a long time - dredging for oysters in the winter, and doing tours in the winter - and clearly imparted his knowledge of the Chesapeake and surrounding waters, as well as how legislative issues impacted the watermen. You... More

With extended family visiting from Minnesota, we spent two hours sailing in a Skipjack with Captain Ed Farley from St. Michael's in late September. Everyone loved the beautiful scenery, complimented by the peaceful sounds of the wind in the sails (instead of the sounds and smells of an engine). We enjoyed learning about the history of oystering in and around... More

Captain and first mate very knowledgeable of the area and of the oyster business. They were friendly and courteous. A peaceful and relaxing cruise especially as we come back as sun was setting. The boat was authentic working boat thus the sitting was minimal but not uncomfortable.

We booked tickets on the H.M. Krentz as part of our college reunion weekend. Was a fun activity to do while in St. Michael's, MD. The boat is beautiful and historic. The Captain and first mate were welcoming and great tour guides for that area of the Chesapeake, citing lots of info about sailing, the oyster industry and artifacts found... More

Captain Ed is a real Chesapeake waterman. He runs nonstop patter about the Chesapeake, its ecology, and mostly about oysters. This skipjack isn't just for show, either. During the Oyster harvesting season. (Oct through March) it's out there working, dredging oysters. All in all, a great afternoon.

had a great time on the H.M Krentz . learned a lot about the oyster business at the same time seeing some beautiful sights. The Captain had some great stores to share adding some local flavor
