We live in St.Michaels and are members of the Museum. When our four year old grand daughter visits us we always pay a visit to "her lighthouse" to make sure that everything is in good shape. She likes to make sure that the table is correctly set and the fish and potatoes (models for those who have not yet visited)... More

This is an attration at the museum. Requires walking up several flights of narrow, circular stairs, but well worth the effort.

This isn't really a tour, but rather a museum-style, self-guided tour of a screw-pile lighthouse that was originally mounted on iron screw pilings out in the water of the Bay. For this reason, lighthouse keepers had to travel by boat to it, and spend weeks at a time in the small, hexagon-shaped structure. The first version had its legs sheared... More

I always read reviews, but not for this last minute visit. We did in fact see the lighthouse, but didn't get a tour. If only I'd read the reviews, I'd have gotten a tour. You learn so much more. There were also parts of the rest of the maritime museum that we made it to only after the museum was... More

It was not too crowded so we had the lighthouse to ourselves. Views are beautiful! So much care was obviously taken in the interior. Personal stories of those who lived and worked there were enjoyable. Not exactly an easy life.

Part of the Maritime Museum the lighthouse was a hit was our young grandchildren. There are dress up clothes and items they can use to play "living in the lighthouse". They had a great time and could have spent all day here. The exhibits are very well done. The Maritime Museum presents material in a creative and interesting manner. Worth... More

The best part of the museum. A lot to see and experience. The view is great . Many artists were in and around the lighthouse.

This is one of 70 lighthouses on the harbor, and it's construction is gorgeous. We took a tour from bottom to top and learned so much about lighthouses.
