The greatest place for a trip back in time. No traffic, friendly people, great views and wonderful oysters, crabs and seafood.

My wife and I spent two nights in Tilgham and really enjoyed it. We are not boaters or fishers, so, as has been stated, there was not much to do. We were looking for a beautiful setting to get away for a bit, have a few drinks on the water, eat some good local seafood, and relax - and we... More

It's a nice ride from St Michaels to the island, but not much to see or do there other than a few eateries. Nice view of Chesapeake Bay at the lower end of the island.

We followed Talbot County's bike trail map and were very disappointed. That is fall advertising! First of all, there are no trails! It is mostly riding on busy highways and there are no bike lanes, just the shoulder that disappears in some areas. Only St. Michael and Oxford are worth visiting but don't waste your time riding your bike around,... More

If you are in St. Michael's, take the time to drive to Tilghman Island. A lovely drive through a quiet, scenic community. We were there on a weekday summer morning, so very quiet.

During a trip to St Michael's we decided to take a drive out to Tilghman Island. We had heard of it but had never been there. In summary, the drive to the end of the island is quite scenic but there isn't a lot to do there. If you are looking for a side trip from St Michael's for lunch,... More

The island time forgot. The Tilghman Inn is out of business and looks like a great spot to shoot a horror movie ... Great views of the bay . . . But otherwise, don't bother.

So let me get this straight, you write a bad review for the entire island just because there is one business on the island that doesn't meet your expectations. You didn't bother to mention that there are plenty of other very successful businesses here that do a super job of hosting tourists. The fact that our little island has been... More

Tilghman Island is a great destination to drive to and explore if you want to get away from the more touristy St. Michaels. We had an opportunity to take a drive here after our sail on Lady Patty and we found it peaceful and pastoral. Having stayed at a B and B on the island about 10 years ago, we... More

Cross the Knapps Narrow drawbridge from the mainland, and you are in a place apart. Tilghman Island, a large flat island in the Chesapeake invites exploration by car or bike. Your exploration can include birding, watching osprey, eagles and peregrine soar, driving or biking quiet streets and roads, exploring the excellent and diverse stock of its bookshop, eating great meals... After a great visit to St Michael's we drove over to Tilghman Island and we're so glad we did. We found a charming place to have some lunch and an beautiful Inn which we plan on staying at in the future.
