The tasting room and vineyard itself was beautiful. A few small bistro tables inside with AC (nice on a hot summer day). Someone was celebrating a birthday with at least six friends when we arrived. But we patiently waited our turn.
They even have musicians on the weekends. Lots of space around the tasting room outside with chairs and a few tables. Even crackers and a few small snacks available for purchase.
But I didn't find a single wine I would even rate at three out of five. My husband likes bold reds all the way to sweet whites and he only slightly liked one wine.
This is close to us and would have been a great place to stop in....maybe you'll like it. $12 for 11 tastes and $6 for five.

We take a mini getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city to go chill at Perigeaux. The tasting room is cozy, the yard--with comfy chairs for lounging and sipping--is peaceful and the folks are very friendly. The wine is ok to good (with some not so good) but the tasting is affordable and you can pick your bottle to enjoy in the yard from there. Splurge for the estate-grown grapes tasting...worth the extra $$. DOGS ARE WELCOME. A big plus for our get-away family!

This winery is a beautiful place. Chairs, tables, and swings all over the property to enjoy the view. Unfortunately, the wine was lacking. It's not bad, it just wasn't our taste in wines. We did the dry red tasting but none of them were very flavorful to us.

This organic wine was awful, the smell alone turned us off, we bought a bottle of the Petit Verdot and it was terrible. On the events calendar for Solomons Md it said they were having Music by Joe Norris , there was no music and we were the only ones there, that should have been a clue. We poured the rest downn the drain, it smelled like rubbing alcohol

I loved the ride to get there, however I love taking the back roads. Everyone was so nice even the very full behaved dog. I only tasted wines that were made by the grapes grown on the property. I like the experience of tasting the local stuff. We left with several bottles.

We were looking for an activity to do in southern Maryland. My wife and I are wine enthusiasts and often wine taste in areas we are visiting. We saw the signs for Perigeaux and web site, it looked very interesting. The drive to and entrance to the winery were charming. The tasting room is also nice, nothing too elaborate but not too different from what one might see at a smaller winery in Washington state or Oregon. The tasting charge is $12, we were going to share one but after we saw the small cordial glass, we each did a tasting. The girl pouring was sweet but inexperienced about anything wine related.
Your twelve dollars gets you 11 tastings. I can honestly say, we’ve been to over 100 tasting rooms in multiple countries and states. The wine here are by far our least favorite. Every wine was flawed, oxidized, super acidic, thin. None were drinkable. The pourer even described some of the wines as tasting like sour patch kids. Everything was dumped in the bucket.
The amazing thing is that the winery has been here for some time, long enough of make quality improvements. As an armature wine maker I know what is possible. On top of that their wine descriptions and tasting notes are downright lies. Finally they have the audacity to ask up to $42 for a bottle. They are giving Maryland a bad wine reputation. Management needs to critically evaluate their offering, hire a real winemaker or change to beer. Visit for the setting but not the wine.

We (my husband, myself, and our two daughters) visited the winery on Saturday, 29 Dec 2018. The drive and grounds are very pretty. The wines, however, are poor. The tasting consisted of few reds and couple whites. They all had a similar vinegary, watered down taste. It was as if they mixed tart fruit juice with wine, and left it sit too long. We intended to make it a day of it so we brought some nice cheeses and salami. My husband, who generally has a hard time saying "NO", bought a bottle of wine------ $42.00! The wine was so bad, we ate all the cheese and salami but had half the bottle still remaining between the four of us. I couldn't tell if it was meant to be acidic or the bottle had gone bad. Either way, it really was not enjoyable. We brought the bottle home, and no one would drink it. I ended up using the $42 wine as part of stock to make braised beef.

The location of the winery is absolutely beautiful. If you want to sit in a very relaxing and beautiful location, this is the place. If you are expecting good wine, not so much. I was not impressed with the wines at all. Normally, I find at least one wine that I like, but not here. There were four of us with four distinct tastes in wine and none of us found anything that we would want to buy.

Upon driving into the lovely property with its magnificent old oaks, neat rows of ripening vinifera grapes, and nice modern tasting room, my hopes for good wine were uplifted. Unfortunately, my optimism was dashed after tasting more than a dozen labels, some NV but mostly from the 2011 vintage. All the wines were thin, lacking in varietal character, and were out of balance. PH levels were too low in nearly every sample. Two wines were "frizzante" not because they were intended to be bubbly, but because they were undergoing malolactic fermentation in the bottle! I could barely swallow any of the samples. None were oxidized from being open too long. They were all simply flawed wines that would score between 50 and maybe 62 on a 100-point scale. Maybe 2011 was a tough vintage in southern Maryland, but these "wines" should have never seen a bottle. An embarrassment to the good wine makers of Maryland, few though they may be, i.e. Basignani, Black Ankle, Boordy, and a few others. Perigeux needs to hire Lucy Morton to figure out whether they can even grow decent vinifera on this site. If that works, then they need to hire a professional winemaker who at least understands ripeness, balance, and how to manage malolactic fermentation. Until then, take a trip to Black Ankle, or Glen Manor in Virginia where all of these matters have been exceedingly well dealt with, as evidenced by the contents of their bottles.

Visited Perigeaux this weekend with some friends. My husband and I had been there before and felt it was decent. But this time... not so much. I will say the site is beautiful, perfect for some relaxing with friends. They even have corn hole! :) Tastings are pricey -- $8 and you don't even get a glass -- and the pours are TINY. The ladies doing our tasting hardly even spoke when they poured, so honestly, we know NOTHING about the wines. It wasn't even that busy... and they were still open for at least an hour. We were outdoors rather than indoors... but still. We felt that nearly every wine just needed more time. Everything tasted kind of bitter and really not that enjoyable. The one we felt the best about was the Organic red. Other than that... There are two tasting lists, perhaps the other one was better. We all shared the same one. The other list seemed like it was sweeter wines, so we avoided it. Not bad for getting your stamp on the Maryland Wine Passport, but not necessarily a must.
