There are several climbing walls with varying degrees of difficulty. There is ample staff to help you, in particular to check the equipment. Safety is critical, but they do an excellent job. It can get busy, so you can get more turns in if you go when it first opens. It seems that 12 year olds want to have 3... More

I cannot say enough good things about this gym. For first time climbers, try open climb - you will get equipment and a staff member to belay and give you tips. As your experience grows, you will have no trouble finding routes at every level. Gets crowded on weekends and after 6 pm, but it is a huge space so... More

Whenever I have a friend visiting from out of town, I always put Earth Treks on my itinerary. It is one of the coolest gyms I've been to, staff is super friendly, and always makes for a really unique experience!

My spouse won some passes, so we took the day off work and drove to Rockville. Very clean and well designed climbing center, we truly enjoyed the challenges each setup provided. The walls are well marked for each level and we always felt safe. Register online prior to going so you save time at the entrance. They had kids camps... More

Can't review this from the perspective of a seasoned climber, but as newbies we were completely impressed. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We dropped in on a Sunday morning with our 4 and 14 year old. We were assigned a staff member (thanks, Dixon!) who assisted all of our climbs and was as comfortable with the 4 year old... More

I always wanted to try rock climbing. My wife and I saw a introductory to climbing class and had no idea the gym even existed as it is hidden behind Marlo Furniture. When we arrived we were amazed and the gym had bouldering, top rope, lead climbing and even a few crack climbs. Everyone was super nice and helpful. After... More

This is a huge gym with great amenities. The walls are well layed out and there is a ton of space for bouldering. The only thing I don't like is that most of the climbs are on slanted walls, which are not good for beginners.

In the world of rock climbing gyms, this one is in the top 5%. It is the 2nd or 3rd largest in the world, which means that there is a great variety in style and difficulty of climbs. The facility is well-appointed and their shop is well curated as well.

The facility is very large, with opportunities for climbers at all levels of experience to find plenty of challenging tracks in both traditional climbing and bouldering. The staff is very helpful and very focused on safety first. One complaint is that there is not sufficient parking.

Earth Treks in Rockville is an amazing indoor climbing gym. This huge facility is tucked behind Marlo Furniture and is much bigger than you'd suspect from the outside. Furthermore, it's bright and spacious, giving it a welcoming vibe to the novice and seasoned climbers alike. Even visitors who've never climbed before will find plenty of climbing routes to try.
