It’s not in the dictionary, but if it was, Go Ape would be described as a ‘tree top adventure’.That means we build giant obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and top it all off with the world's best zip lines. We then equip people with harnesses, pulleys and carabiners, give them a 30 minute safety briefing and training and let them loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees. Of course, instructors are always on hand, regularly patrolling the forests (not in monkey suits unfortunately!)The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun.

I was cocky. Not entirely cocky, just mildly cocky. I felt like this activity would be a breeze. "I skipped the gym in the morning to come to the forest and climb trees?" is what initially went through my head--as if to say that the gym would have been a better workout. It was awesome, and an awesome workout. I... More

I went to Go Ape having gone to Sandy Spring Adventure Park. I went Father's Day weekend, Saturday for the last appointment figuring there'd be some room to maneuver around slow people. Not so much. At Sandy Spring Adventure Park (SSAP), three courses diverge from a single departure platform. You can see which of teh three courses is least crowded... More

First and foremost I have to say that our instructor Cameron was fantastic. Very hands on. Very encouraging. Very helpful. The actual zip lining was pretty easy and fun. Getting to the platforms to do the zip lining was a bit of challenge. At one point I was stuck. Cameron called up encouragement from the ground and got me through... More

From check-in, you are greeted and thanked for choosing Go Ape. Our instructor (Sean) made sure that every person in the group understood the rules , practicing safety, and more importantly how to maneuver throughout the course. This is not a quick activity, you will spend a couple hours at the least moving throughout the course. Wear appropriate clothing and... More

I had a great time going here but I would recommend going on a warm day. I know you can't control the weather but it would have been a lot more fun on a warm day.

We had such a blast when we went! The staff was great, and the course well-maintained. I recommend it for anyone not afraid of heights!

If you are looking for something new to do and don't mind the cost, try Go Ape. We went on cold Sunday morning when there was almost no one there. I would highly recommend going at an off time. I imagine that it would be less fun if you felt hurried because of others waiting or if you had to... More

Love this place! Had been to Williamsburg location previously and enjoyed it thoroughly. Rockville locale is great too. Instructor was Cameron form Temecula, he was great. Challenging course for climbing and swinging, good lightweight workout with fine scenery in Rock Creek Park. Perfect outing for adventurous families that can't plan their own fun too well. Go Ape has it all... More

As an older adult - the thought of this sort of adventure was a little off-putting, however, the family decided we should do it. We had a great time! Where some portions were a little tough for me, there was an alternate route that was doable. When my friends say it's too much, I say "do it"!

I went to Go Ape in Rockville with three friends. It was our first time ziplining. This place is so much more than simply being tethered to a wire. They have you hop through a bunch of fun obstacle courses. Despite being terrified of heights, I always felt safe being connected to two-three lines at all times. Our instructor/leader was... More
