Take the helm or just relax as you sail from Rock Hall Harbor into the open Chesapeake Bay or the scenic Swan Creek. Blue Crab Chesapeake Charters is home to Rock Hall's Original Sunset Cruise and will surely top off any visit to Maryland's Eastern Shore. We can accommodate large and small groups and depart up to five times daily from Watermans Crab House Restaurant. Your hosts are full-time residents of Rock Hall and are readily available to sail 7 days a week from April through October. Our sailing vessel, "Island Girl" is a 43 foot Morgan center cockpit sailboat with lots of deck space and a full cockpit enclosure for your comfort. Three of us had a lovely 90 minute sail last weekend! Captain Mark and his wife wore masks; we sat in the seats on the bow, and the other 3 passengers sat in the stern (6 passengers max go out at a time), so we felt completely safe. I have been on many sailing charters - it was obvious that Captain Mark follows all safety rules. He was also careful to give us a really nice ride, but did not pull in the sails to the point where less adventurous passengers would get nervous - it was just a calm, relaxing sail. We really appreciated the ability to go out on the water and experience the Chesapeake without having to charter an entire boat, as some charters require. Note: The boat also has a marine head, or bathroom, if needed (I didn't use it). We will definitely be back next season!

We've known Mark and Suzanne of Blue Crab Charters for many years and have always enjoyed our sails with them. We went just before Memorial Day weekend as we noted the bad weather coming in. We did an evening sail with 2 other couples of Thursday evening and enjoyed a lovely sunset on the bay. Our day sail on Friday was quite kick-ass and Mark turned the helm over to early on and chatted with Ellen and me the whole time. The sailboat is first class and in excellent condition.

Our family went with Mark sailing last weekend, and enjoyed very much. Mark engaged all of us in conversation, let one of the boys hoist the main sail, and I got a little time steering the boat on the bay. At the end of the trip, the 5 year old who was curios about the lower deck, got a chance for Mark to let him go down below to satisfy his curiosity. Nice trip and way to spend part of your day.

We spent a relaxing, care-free afternoon with Cap'n Mark and Suzanne. They are two of the nicest and most genuine people you'll ever meet! They played steel drum music and served us drinks while we soaked up the sun. Highly recommend you reserve a sailing tour of the Chesapeake Bay with them!

If you’re wondering what to do in Rock Hall, I highly recommend taking the Sunset Cruise with Blue Crab Chesapeake Charters. In mid-May, my husband and I were in Rock Hall for a wedding and were fortunate to have a romantic sunset cruise for two. I never know how to unwind especially when traveling, but it came easily, and I must say it was one of the best 2 hours I have spent in a long time.
Captain Mark is delightful, knowledgeable & skilled and he made our tour very engaging and fun. We brought our own bottle of wine onboard and we sat out front on the deck with Jimmy Buffet lightly playing in the background and the weather was perfect. The hustle of the day went silent once the sails went up and we watched the most gorgeous sunset; it was so relaxing.
The Island Girl is special all on her own but when you add Captain Mark, the Chesapeake Bay, and the sunset – you are in for an amazing time.

From the moment we spoke to the owner, we knew that picking Blue Crab Charters was going to be a beautiful experience and needless to say, it met all and exceeded our expectations. There were 6 of us who enjoyed every last second of being on that ship. We were given refreshments, enjoyed the sites, the stories of their adventures and actually, another trip is most likely to happen sooner than not. Thanks to all!

Mark went above and beyond to give my wife and I an amazing sunset cruise. The views were amazing!! Not only did Blue Crab charters take us to a magnificent location to view a beautiful sunset, they frequently brought my wife and I cold fresh ice for our cocktails. Mark topped the night off with an acoustic solo guitar rendition of Happy Anniversary to you, to ring in and celebrate my wife I’s 20th anniversary!! Blue crab Charters is top notch and we highly recommend a beautiful cruise with them.

We had booked a sunset cruiser in advance of our trip to Rock Hall, MD. Unfortunately, right when we were getting ready to board, it poured. They were able to reschedule us for the next morning at 10 a.m., but again, it poured. Luckily, they were able to fit us in on an afternoon sailing, and we were beyond thrilled that we got to experience it! Captain Mark was wonderful - learned quit a bit about sailing and the whole experience was very entertaining. Definitely would go back when we visit again!

Our sunset cruise was fantastic. the weather was perfect and we enjoyed a georgeous sunset and a bonus beautiful full moon rise. Mark & Suzanne are very personable, professional, humourous and great conversationalist. We were very impressed with Mark's knowledge of local history as he pointed out many landmarks we were unaware of. Mark even fired his small cannon to celebrate a passengers birthday. We will return again and again!

Captain Mark was awesome! I booked a 1.5 private cruise for my husband's birthday and we couldn't have enjoyed the experience more. From making sure we were happy with the music selection, to giving us some interesting tidbits about sailing and the Chesapeake, we enjoyed every moment! We can't wait to book this again for a cruise with friends. He even shot the cannon off at the end of the cruise in honor of my husband's birthday. Very responsive customer service from Suzanne when booking as well! Highly recommend!
