GPS led us to a parking lot. We hiked for the longest time in the hot sun and didn’t see sunflowers. After reading a posted map, we went to another parking lot and had a very short walk to a glorious field of flowers. We also saw lots of crayfish scurrying on the ground. There are no restrooms. Bring water.

McKee Bershers is totally worth a trip and it’s free. You feel like you’re in France and in a Monet painting. It’s off River Road in Poolsville/Potomac, MD. follow the map that’s on McKee website, there are no signs that point to the 3 sunflower fields. You can also check the condition of the flowers on the website so that you don’t make the trek If they haven’t fully bloomed due to rain or wilt at the end of the season.

Been wanting to take photos of sunflowers for a long time - found out through my camera club that the sunflowers were blooming - arrived at McKee Beshers Wildlife Management per directions on website - parked - short walk from the parking lot to the flowers - along the way butterflies, dragon flies and craydaddies greeted me. Beautiful experience - not crowded - went during the week - check website to see blooming cycle - planted every year by the Wildlife Management Association - if you don't make it this year try again next year towards the end of June and early July. They say in the morning is the best time to see the birds munching on the seeds.

Wonderful summer/fall activity. Short walk and you are surrounded by wildflowers. Beautiful amazing experience and is free. This summer it rained too much and they were not at their best

Today was a perfect day for the sunflower blooms.........awesome! Check the website for best viewing days. Traffic was not a problem late afternoon. Also, check the map where the fields are located......they can not be seen from the main road (River Rd). Highly Recommend!
