We have been boating and fishing all week and a great destination. Fishing was great with blues and came up on a pod of about 30 dolphins that swam with the boat for about 15 min. Great event that the kids enjoyed.

It is according to what you want. This part of the country is very slow moving and relaxing. Everything is clean, just as you probably imagine coastal Maryland to be. BUT you are not going to find sandy, southern, free beaches in this area as you will in the south. Most beaches are private, and there is not a lot... More

I visit St. George Island as often as possible to visit friends and family. A perfect place to enjoy the St. George Creek and Potomac River. This is a perfect place to recharge and relax. It's also an excellent place for boating and fishing. Being somewhat remote, this village is home to the Ruddy Duck Restaurant and Tavern, and a... More

Not a touristy area. Minimal hotels and restaurants; be prepared for simple accommodations and food. Good idea to bring plenty of your own snacks and beverages. Popular area for fishing and bicycling. Can be VERY windy here and cool after sunset. Fabulous sunrise/sunset views. One of the most affordable and relaxing getaways we have found in Southern Maryland.

This is the place to come to hang out, rest and enjoy the atmosphere. Were were here before memorial day so it was especially quiet, but even in the Summer I suspect this is more about peaceful walks, enjoying the sunset and relaxing than a party town.

St Georges Island in St Mary's County, Maryland is a small island that has Island Inn and Suites and a Ruddy Duck. We have had several office function at Ruddy Duck which usually isn't open for lunch but they open up for events.

St. George Island typifies the beauty of Southern Maryland. Peaceful, serene - words that accurately describe a small island with a big history. Always makes me think of blue crabs, oysters, and rockfish.

Interesting little area. Not much here but peace and tranquility. Beautiful views of the water whichever direction you look in
