Fort Smallwood along the Patapsco River of Baltimore is a great place to visit when seeking some quiet time. It is home to Canada geese and local indigenous trees. I particularly like the large persimmon tree. The recently upgraded boat and fishing pier adds a...More

Since the last time I was there they've added a boat dock and changed the south end landscaping. It's been a great change and went from a nice park to one of the best.

Fort Smallwood is a small but nice family park. It has a great playground for kids with great water views. There are picnic tables here and there (not tons of them) and a few gazebos. But you can fish off the banks and a pier!...More

The park is not as large as Downs Park but they have swimming and a large pier for fishing and crabing. They also have an area where you can put your boat into the water.

Finally, a public boat ramp in North aa county. $6 park fee per car, + $4 to use the ramp. Clean secure parking with rest rooms and new fishing pier.
