Horrible treatment by employees
Jun 2020 • Friends
So last Saturday me and my girlfriends decided to go and enjoy their wonderful wine. Unfortunately as soon as we crossed the door we were greeted with looks like we did not belonged there. After trying to figure out if we wanted to do the tasting or just drink the wines we knew, we decided to avoid tasting. That’s when “Phill” if that’s even his name, said with a tone that we can leave and that they are going to be there when we come back, like what the actual f*ck??? Then I said, oh we were talking about the tasting not about leaving the place, his reply was unheard by us but definitely by the white people sitting at the bar which instantly started laughing and they kept going back and forth for a few mins. When he approached the table to bring the menus my friend asked him what happened and that if he was having a bad day? He said no and left. The lady that works there (blonde, probably 5’3) asked him what was going on, to which he replied something unheard for us but to what she replied: huh that’s not gonna work. That’s when we decided to leave even though we loved the place and have been there several times, not just for tasting but buying bottles and bottles of wine. This poor treatment definitely costed them a few hundreds dollars while been in this situation where businesses are just reopening. Stupid thing for Phill and sorry for the owners.

A gem in Olney!
Oct 2019
We attended for Tuesday night Trivia Night with friends. The atmosphere is fun, creative, and relaxed. The wine was extremely tasty, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

There's plenty of parking, and though it's located in a strip mall, the ambiance inside is anything but depressing. The decor is great and the seating is comfortable.

They have a small menu of snacks to supplement wine, but they are happy to let you bring in your own food (the Mexican restaurant next door will deliver your food to your table at the winery!).

We will definitely come again!

Great Wine, Great Customer Service
Jul 2019 • Couples
My husband and I had a great experience here. They offer a great variety of wines for all tastes. The server, Lisa was very warm and friendly. We used a Groupon and received souvenir
glasses and a $10 discount on our bottles. We will definitely return.

One of my favorite Maryland wineries
Mar 2019 • Couples
We are members of this winery and take friends and family there any chance we get. Don't let its location in a strip mall (pretty much between a grocery store and Green Turtle) fool you- they have a great selection, relaxing venue, wine events weekly and a place where you can make your own wine. They have my favorite dessert wine of all time- Chocolate Raspberry Port style wine. Heaven!

Make Your Own Wine
Feb 2019 • Friends
I had a smaller gathering than I would have preferred, but I was celebrating a friend's birthday. The process was pretty simple. I had Ed guiding me through the scheduling process the entire way. Either though they thought we had a 6pm appointment, they easily got us in at 1pm. We're eagerly awaiting the bottling and labeling step. All-in-all, the winery is cute and I would like to go back just to sip wine and relax.

A gem!
Sep 2018 • Friends
Stumbled upon this gem when visiting the Hand and Stone a few doors down. Not only is the tasting room adorable but the the people that come in as well as he servers were just so genuine and down to earth. Overflowing with info and insight about the wine itself. There are opportunities to make your own batch, wine club and travel. I learned that the travel club is planning a trip to France in May 2019. Since I’ve made these amazing new friends, I’m going with them!!!! Paris is on my bucket list so the stars are aligned! I can’t wait to build in this budding relationship with Olney Winery

Great date Night!
Jul 2018 • Couples
We had an excellent date night at the Olney Winery! Wonderful wine selection, including several fruit wine selections! The winery offers a chance to batch your own wine under a beautiful label you design. We loved the idea it so much we bought one for us and one for a present!

We tried several varities and also sampled one of the cheese trays. Everything was delightfully delicious! Strongly encourage you to check out this little spot! They often have music. The also have trivia!

Enjoyed our visit here.....
Jun 2018 • Friends
We were here for a cupcake and wine tasting. The cupcakes were delicious and the wine was good. The event was everything we wanted, a chance to hang out with friends and have some wine and sweets. Everyone enjoyed different wines but everyone picked one that they liked. A call before the event to the winery was very helpful in our planning and made the visit even more pleasant. We will definately be making another trip here.

Fun! Tasting!
May 2018 • Couples
There were not many people at this wine tasting room at 11:15 on a Thursday morning. In fact, we were the only two people there. But we had a great time talking with the lady pourer....sipping the wines (5 tastings for $8)....learning all about the winery itself....and finding out that all fruit wines are NOT simply "fruity." The Peach Chardonnay, which is their award-winner, had definite peach overtones but it did not take away from the grapes. It went down smoothly! We also liked the Cranberry Shiraz and the Acai Raspberry Cabernet Sauvignon. Favorite samplings from the non-fruit wines: Muller Thurgan Stone House White, Pinot Noir (N. Brothers), and the White Merlot. About the only wine we didn't care for was a dessert wine, the Raspberry Chocolate....it was too heavy and too chocolately (surprising for a chocoholic like me.) We bought 6 bottles of wine (20% discount with the purchase of 6) for a total of approximately $129....and went merrily on our way. A delightful way to spend an hour or so.

Nice tasting; diverse choices
Apr 2018 • Couples
We are continuing our Maryland wine passport journey, and chose Olney today. As a winery (i.e. they buy their grapes), this winery has over two dozen wines ranging from red to white, dry to sweet, multi fruit and all in between.

Location. It is tucked away in a shopping area/strip mall. It doesn’t stand out or “pop;” You have to look for it amidst the other nondescript shops.

Wine tasting. Seating is at a large horseshoe shaped bar, with approx 20-24 seats total. There are couches and other tables as well, but wine tasting is focused around the central bar. You chose 5 wines from their menu, and your tasting begins. On a Saturday midday, all seats were taken; the 2-3 hostess in the center were busy making their way around the horseshoe to talk and fill glasses. This at times caused delays in moving to our next wine, or getting questions answered.
Wines are priced at $18-$35 per bottle.
The only negative note I have is the hostess’ knowledge of the winery and wines. Maybe it was a new hostess, but basic questions about the winery’s annual production, the history, the sugar content of the wine, etc. could not be answered.
