The captain and mate were friendly and helpful. My kids had a great time trying to catch fish. We did not catch a lot but they had a good time. 2 hours was a good length and it included rods and bait.

My husband and 9 yr old son had the most fun on this fishing charter. They give you everything you need and the people in charge are very helpful. My son was so excited at the fish he caught and loved watching everyone catching fish and other sea creature. priced very reasonably.

We have been fishing on the Happy Hooker for the past 4 years and it never disappoints. Our little boy (now 7) looks forward to every trip. I recommend the first trip of the day before it gets too hot. The captain and his first mate are always helpful. There is ample free parking at the dock.

The captain was very "salty", no pun intended. He was borderline rude at times when he needed to provide any instruction because he was very concerned about the value of the rods. He was also rude to his teen assistant who was still learning his duties. The website doesn't explain the weight restrictions needed to keep any catches below 16 inches. At the first catch, the captain told us that we had to throw the fish back and then said that he should have mentioned that at first. We basically went in a circle and stayed at points to fish for 5 minutes or less. We did make some catches, but all but one were under the weight requirement to keep. So, it was a fun day to catch and release, but not for anyone hoping to catch and keep. When someone finally caught a fish that met the length requirements to keep, the captain boasted about the fisherperson, stating that she was quiet, patient and didn't complain. Not taking anything away from the person who caught her fish, but the repetitive mention that she was patient and didn't complain, led all of the rest of the passengers to believe that he was insinuating that we were complaining and not patient, which was far from any truth. Why give someone a compliment at the expense of others and make the majority feel as if they did something wrong? At the end, the captain thanked everyone for the time spent and reminded us that he and his helper were seasonal workers and depended on tips to survive. In my humble opinion, requesting tips is in poor taste. You should earn them. We all saw the tip box in plain and visible view. If you want a tip, earn it and treat your customers a bit kinder, be more patient and don't complain!!!!! This is a great excursion if you want to have fun and catch some fish to throw back. But, if you're looking to make dinner out of your excursion, choose another fishing adventure.

Who doesn't love a fishing trip?! On the water, sun, fun and fishing. If you love people to talk down to you, be sarcastic, rude, mean and just plain cruel, then this is the trip for you. My 6 year old son was so happy and proud to catch a fish, until the mate rubbed the fish tail in his ear and hit him in the head with it on purpose. Yeah...really! My son had a lot of questions about the the fishing rods, fishing in general and questions about the boat to. When my son asked what the net was for. The captain, with a sarcastic attitude said, "We throw little boys who talk too much in the water and fetch them later with that net!" That meant Shut Up. This was the tip of the ice berg of so many other rude comments. So if you love to be mistreated and spoken down to, this is the trip for you. Needless to say we will not be fishing on that boat again. I don't recommend it.

We went on this 2 hour fishing tour as a fun family event but the staff made it miserable. Captain Steve was rude and unfriendly. His first mate was not helpful. They acted liked they were doing you a big favor taking you on the trip. The were busy catching their own fish and not helping us— we had never fished before and if my son’s line got caught it was a big deal for them to help him. I did not want to string my own bait but I had no choice as the first mate wouldn’t do it as they were busy catching their own fish and generally staring into space.

These guys should not be allowed to take out families as they are rude and have no people skills. They need a serious staffing change- we were stuck for 2 hours with these guys. It made me very uncomfortable.

At one point, my seven year old lost all his fishing line by accident and the Captain screamed at my husband that they were going to charge us for the line and didn’t want to give my husband more line.

There was zero instruction on how to fish as these guys are not teachers and should not be dealing with the public.

The tour would be fun if there was better and nicer staff.

With 40 minutes left before check in we were called and told our trip had been cancelled. It was a beautiful day by the way so weather wasn’t a factor. This left us no time to find a replacement trip. It made me wonder if their customer service is so poor how safe our trip might have been.

My daughter (6) has been begging to go fishing. We decided to go on our vacation to Ocean City, MD. We looked at all the different options, and the 2 hr bay excursion seemed best for her.

All the staff was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. My daughter had a wonderful time. As she was very new to fishing, she had no catches. She's had a great time reeling the line up and watching others catching fish. The boat itself didn't really start catching much until the last part of the excursion. There were some catches early, but not much.

The tour itself was nice. We stayed between the RT 50 bridge and the RT 90 bridge. The captain, while traveling, was talking on his phone to book other excursions. While we were approaching the next stop or stopped all together, he was helpful and gave pointers.

This was great first time fishing for my daughter. She had fun. If you are looking for more adventure, this is not what you are looking for.

We had a fun time...our son caught 2 horseshoe crabs...I would definitely recommend and early tour...once it gets hot out the fish aren't biting. But we had fun. Prices weren't bad...family of four was $80.

This was our second year in a row going fishing on the Happy Hooker. Captain Steve was great. Moved the boat around the bay to all the right hot spots. Very funny also. His two helpers on the boat did a great job keeping the bait stocked, untangling lines, taking pictures, unhooking fish among other things. I don't think they guaranty a catch but all four of us in my family caught at least two each. My 8 y.o son snagged 5. I think only one person in 30 didn't catch any. The trip is a perfect length.
