About
The Bay Bee is 40' and is custom designed to accommodate the bay fisherman. She sails 1/2 day trips throughout the summer season. The Bay Bee is designed to carry passengers on a four hour fishing excursion in the Sinepuxent and Assawoman Bays. The Bay Bee is equipped with the finest up to date fish finding and navigational equipment and fishes for flounder, sea bass, tautog, trout and snapper blues. The Bay Bee offers special children's fares, clean restroom accommodations and fish cleaning service. Our friendly, helpful, experienced crew is U.S. Coast Guard Certified. Rods are available, as are sodas and light snacks. Charters are available as well.

This was just the right level of fishing for us on our recent vacation -- 4 hours rather than all day, and around the bay near Ocean City (Assawoman Bay), not out in the ocean. We caught about 14 fish between my son and daughter and I, though none were large enough to be keepers. (that was fine, we didn't have a kitchen to cook them in. The crew did a good job showing interesting marine life - someone caught a large sea horse, which was very cool to see, and several horseshoe crabs were caught and kids could touch their (harmless) claws, etc. if they wanted. A good day on the water. Boat wasn't as crowded as others we saw so that was appreciated.

We wanted to take the kids fishing and do something different with them. We checked around for the different flounder fishing trips in OC. We picked Bay Bee because All Tackle had said they heard good things and it was a great value I thought compared to the other charters for a couple reasons:
1. They don't have a huge capacity - which means you aren't crammed on a boat with 35 other people like I saw on some other flounder fishing boats we saw while we were out
2. The paper had a coupon for free rod rental
3. The Bay Bee goes out for 4 hours compared to most other boats 2 hours and is only $5 more per person (I think that's what I remember anyway) then most any other charter I checked
4. They leave from the Ocean City Fishing Center where there is free parking and Mickey Fins (which I reviewed separately - they have the BEST wedge salad of anywhere in OC)

Between 2000-2015 we went out on the Bay Bee several times every vacation. The boat is clean and comfortable and there is plenty of fresh bait on the AM and PM trips ; which isn't true for some of the other flounder bay charters boats north of the 50 Bridge ! Last time, there was a group of 6 wanting to go out, because there were 2 no shows. Remaining 6 customers were going to pay / make up the difference. Capt. harshly told customers, that he would NOT go out with just 6, even if we made up the $$ difference, lost by not having 8 people. An argument ensued between customers and the Capt. about good customer service. Capt. still refused to take us out. The Staff inside booking the trips are friendly and helpful. Parking is free and close. The price is reasonable for 4 hours, if you can manage to leave the dock.

Made reservations to take my two sons and grandson out with bay bee. When we arrived 1/2 hour early I was told we may not go if the other two people who made reservations didn't show up. They said they usually like eight but would go with six people. As it got later the other couple were no shows. so I offered to pay for the 2 no shows fees so we could still go they said no , then I offered to pay for a party of eight just so my sons and I could go fishing and there answer was no it wouldn't be fair to the mate on boat she wouldn't get enough tips!!!! well how much did she get when we said forget it????

Spent four great hours on bay fishing on this vessel. I had a great time, good captain and first mate made the fishing trip very enjoyable. We didn't catch a lot of fish but it was a fun four hours. Well worth the money.

For Father's Day, my husband and I took the afternoon fishing trip on the Bay Bee. We had a wonderful time! The boat was very clean and the crew terrific. One of the crew members circulated constantly among the patrons, right on the spot if we had a snagged line or a fish on the line that needed netting. The trip lasted 4 hours, and we fished for a full four hours - no shortcutting at all. The trip was concentrated around the inlet, the Assateague Island shore, etc., so the scenery was great too. As an added bonus, the Air Show was that same afternoon, so we got treated to the Thunderbirds performance right overhead! We would definitely do this again and highly recommend the Bay Bee bay fishing trip to everyone - great for both families and couples!

Bay Bee took a boat full of Veterans and thier families. Everyone had action.Mate and Capt were great.Rods and bait were supplied due to it being a private charter.

My family goes on the Bay Bee every time we visit Ocean City. It's a 4 hr flounder fishing trip in the bay, so no chance of sea sickness! We always catch many fish, but it's hard to catch a keeper since they need to be 17". Either way, it's always a blast! We have been on every head boat in O.C., but prefer this one.

I researched all of the local fishing charters and chose the Bay Bee b/c it offered a 4-hr trip...longer than the other local companies.
Our group of 3 adults and 2 teens had a great time. We all caught a variety of fish & enjoyed an awesome dolphin group swimming alongside our boat. It's fun just cruising around the Bay so catching fish is just an added bonus.
The boat is clean and the Capt and Mate (Heather) are great. The boat has a small bathroom which was nice.
Now, 4 hrs is a long time out so recommend bringing sandwiches, etc. and it may be a bit long for younger kids.
We enjoyed ourselves and will return next year.

How long does this boat go out as far as the season? I’m gonna be in Ocean City in October and was wondering if the boat is still fishing then thanks
