We took the dolphin cruise when we were down on our vacation. The trip was very good, staff knowledgeable. We seen many dolphins and even a sea turtle. I would recommend it to anyone who likes nature in the wild and beautiful scenery. The trip lasts 3 hours. We got 1/2 price tickets at exploreoc.com .

Great and helpful mates. Captain tried so hard for our day to be successful. Food and drinks on board. Larger boat so a but slower but alot less crowded.

We had a beautiful day, fairly calm seas and a great crew, but sadly not much fish. It is DEEP sea so you spend a lot of time going out and coming back so if you are all about fishing you may want a full day trip to maximize your line in the water. The mates Tim & Reilly were friendly and attentive and worked hard untangling the tanglers. But we had fun and that's what we were after on a vacation outing.

We had such a nice experience on the Judith M.
Clean boat & friendly staff.
Not much sunset yo see because of the clouds but saw lots of dolphins on our way back to the boat.
Captain did a great job docking.
Thanks!

1.5 hour sunset cruise. It was raining but the boat set sail. Everyone was miserable. Kids were bored. We didn't go into the ocean, we just drove around randomly. Total waste of time and money.

My husband & I went on the sunset cruise the Judith M offers it was only $16 each. We got to Fish Tales early to buy the tickets & enjoyed some drinks at the bar & around the docks before the cruise started. Its a great way to view the beach from the ocean & we got to see some dolphins, we will definitely go on the cruise again next time we visit.

If you are looking for something a little different, and definitely less expensive if you compare what other attractions cost per hour, I would absolutely recommend taking a trip on the Judith M. They sail out of Fish Tales / Bahia Marina at 21st St. Bayside. They currently have 3 cruises per day- a fishing trip that departs at 8AM, a sightseeing / nature cruise from 3-6PM, and a sunset cruise at 7:30PM. My favorite is the sunset cruise. The boat leaves at 7:30PM, heads south to the Rt. 50 bridge for the 7:55PM scheduled opening, and then depending on weather / sea conditions either through the inlet and north along the coast to about 15th St., or west into the commercial fishing harbor. Either is a great experience. Both go right past the north tip of Assateague Island (but don't expect to see ponies here- much more likely on the 3PM cruise). I have done this trip many times, and it is always a little different. Last night we saw several dolphins right off the inlet. The cruise is narrated by Captain Seth, and is very entertaining and informative. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. There is a mate on board to answer any questions, and usually Captain Seth will invite any kids on board to go up to the wheel house and pose for a photo while they steer the boat. Lots of fun for everyone. They also have a well stocked galley and bar, very friendly bartender, as well as all types of beer, wine, soda and water for purchase. Even hot dogs, hamburgers and other sandwiches are available, as well as all types of candy, chips, nuts, etc. Prices are very reasonable. Probably the best part though is the sunset (see photo). It is one of the best views you will have both from the bay and the ocean. The boat heads back for the scheduled 8:25PM bridge opening, and returns to the marina by 9PM. Well worth the $23 for adults and $8 for kids- plus, they were doing one free kid with each paying adult. Hard to beat.

Over priced and way too crowded. The boat was booked full and this was the first problem. They let way too many people on the boat. Everyone was should to shoulder at best. This is not an exaggeration. Not only was that uncomfortable, but with only two ship mates, they could not keep up with the request for more bait. Very little fish were caught. When taking a head boat, the point is to catch lots of junk fish such as black bass or croakers and such. Not great fish but plentiful and fun to catch. Captain was not skilled enough or not concerned enough to put us on the fish. Bathrooms disgusting and without toilet paper. Seating area very basic and bland. No AC although they say they do. This room had four doors to the outside that actually have no doors attached. Just an opening, so even if they had AC, it would be useless. Top if off, you have to pay $5 to use one of there old poles. Would not recommend and would no way ever use them again.

So my husbad took me out on this fishing boat during our trip to OC for our 5 year Anniversary and it was Awful!! I was so super excited and we paid a Lot of money to go Fishing and out of a 4 hour trip we fished for no more than 20-30min!!! A lot of the people on our boat were upset, esp about the fishing time..or should I say the lack there of!! I have to say that I never write bad reviews or anything like that as I am not that type of person, but I also have to say that this definitely warrants it! Would not recommend this boat at All!!!

I would recommend trying another company if you want to go fishing in OC. Took the 8am fishing trip out of Fish Tails Marina. I understand everyone has good and bad fishing days but the captain should have warned everyone of the rough seas. They even said when we got out there if they would have known it would have been this bad they wouldn’t have gone... isn’t that their job to check the seas and swells? Out of the 20 people on the boat there were maybe 3 that were not getting sick. The entire boat caught 3 fish. The trip was extremely scary and I am surprised someone didn’t fall over board!
