We visited here today with our daughter and her two children (6 & 2). This truly is a spot for young and old. The Butterfly House was a delight; there are several guides in it who explain the life cycles of the butterflies. Both of the children thoroughly enjoyed this, spending about 30 minutes there with the furnished magnifying glasses.... More

We recently attended a summer concert at Ladew Gardens with 2 other couples. We planned the evening by packing a picnic dinner and bringing chairs. It was so nice to enjoy a concert and friendship on a Sunday summer evening.

I have visited this garden a few times and always love it. Parts of it are just magical; the gardens, the topiary garden, the winding paths, the little surprises, the nature trails, and oh the beautiful stream with flowers and plants and trees and.... well, I just love it. Great place to de-stress and enjoy the beauty. Plan to have... More

Went to visit the Ladew Topiary Gardens on a whim. So glad we did! The gardens are beautiful and so well laid out. The topiaries are wonderful! We were there two hours and did not see everything. I wish we had time for the house tour. So well worth your time to visit! The butterfly house only has local butterflies... More

We love the gardens on the east coast and always try to find a new one. We visited Ladew Topiary Gardens and were so thrilled this garden is so close to Baltimore. Definitely good to be outdoors and enjoy the water features, open space, butterfly garden, meadows and Topiary. We had lunch at the cafe which is located in a... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. My husband, daughter and I purchased the house tour/combo tickets. As stated, you only tour the downstairs of the house. But I'm glad I did. We learned alot about Mr. Ladew and the history of the gardens. They do allow photography for the first time inside the house. The gardens do have... More

A lovely garden and enjoyable to visit, but not very well suited to anyone in a wheelchair unfortunately. Happily I am not in need of a wheelchair, but I couldn't help but notice the various roots etc on the grounds. I was surprised to read that it is rated as one of the top 5 in the US; not that... Our family (8 of us... 7 adults and a teenager) enjoyed the Nature Tour of the gardens. It was very peaceful and calm, not crowded. The nature rooms were color themed and a lovely backdrop for family photos. It was a little overpriced. We did not pay additional money and tour the home, but other reviews on here describe it... The Ladew Gardens near Aberdeen MD is a great destination for gardeners, especially those with an interest in history. The plants, shrubs, and trees are all quite nice and there are a number of 'water interests" on the property, complete with frogs when we were there in late May 2016. There are a number of large topiaries to pique young... More
