We visited the topiary gardens on the way through Maryland. The property is a very good size and there are plenty of topiaries to see. You could easily spend 2 hours walking the grounds. An added treat was all of the pumpkins lined up with different carvings around Halloween time.

This is a gem of a garden with surprises around every corner. Nicely maintained garden and topiari are top notch. Each section of the massive grounds deserves undivided attention and one could easily spend the whole day (9 to 4) here. The koi pond near Iris garden is not to be missed and likewise the cello player in the yellow garden.

My granddaugher, daughter-in-law and I had a girls' day out and decided to visit Ladew Gardens. The place is huge and we were able to enjoy lots of topiaries, sculptures, plants and trees. There was even a koi pond as well as a few other water features. My granddaughter did their scavenger hunt and found all but 1 of the 12 items. Unfortunately, the manor house and butterfly house were not yet open. But I really enjoyed all the little hidden gardens that had seating where someone could just sit and relax. Besides roaming the garden areas, there is a 1 mile trail around the perimeter but it was way too hot for us to stay and do that. We hope to go back in the fall when it will be a little cooler so we can spend more time exploring.

Very dynamic garden, nice mix to be able to see manicured and wild at the same time... Good color foilage in October. Nice touch of adding pumpkins around. But... Staff Sucks. Very poor customer service. Limited hours of operation, and they wanted people gone early, yet want the full $15 entry price. It was very rude, and despite the beautiful gardens, makes me overall not recommend total value. If you can't enjoy the gardens because of the rude staff literally following people around, then I guess they don't want visitors.

We are members of Ladew and we returned for the Garden Glow event that they held over one weekend. We had a fantastic time. First, the event began early enough where it was still light out and went into the night. It was such a treat to be able to see all of the carved pumpkins on the property and then get to see how it lit up the property as it got dark.

The band was great, the food trucks amazing, and the entertainment created a fun atmosphere. Sign me up for next year!

One piece of advice, if you at all are limited as far as mobility goes, bring a camp chair. Many people threw a blanket down on the grass but I would not have been able to get through the night if I couldn’t sit when needed. That being said...the staff not only helped me get up to the house, they offered to help me bypass the long path up. I didn’t want to miss all of the pumpkins, but it was nice to see how helpful they were.

For the whole family this great venue is reasonably priced and has so much to offer from the nature hike to the many gardens and gift shop. I went on an extremely hot day and found lots of cool shade and water features. There were ample benches to sit on and places for contemplation or gathering in the cool grass as well as picnic tables under the trees. Beauty and delight wait around every corner. Plenty for senior citizens to school children. The docent led tour of the mansion is not to be missed, if possible. Plus the staff is so genuinely friendly and outgoing.

A really wonderful collection of gardens. So much to see. The vistas are stunning. We were there for 3 hours and I think we saw the whole grounds. Right now their cafe is not open so either bring food or order a take away lunch from a catering service on Ladew’s site the morning before you visit.

I love touring gardens. Some are very large and formal. Ladew has some formal aspects to it, but it's also very intimate. I really enjoyed my time there. It's a place where you can take your time and enjoy at your own pace.
Parking is easy, and the cafe is very nice. It's a place enjoyable spring, summer and fall.

What a fun time we had visiting Ladew Topiary Gardens. Like visiting fabulous (millionaire ) friends huge garden. Very distinctive point of view with different garden “rooms”, creative informal topiaries, wonderful plants and garden follies.

Absolutely recommend taking the house tour first (if you are lucky, your tour guide will be Germain, so knowledgeable. We felt we really got to know Mr Ladew! And wished we could have been invited to his parties!). House isn’t grand but done with exquisite taste.

Shout out (also) to Michelle at the ticket office who helped us get tickets and Pam in the gift shop who shared our enthusiasm for this wonderful place!

We raved to our friends about it and can’t wait to come back again.

This is a place we thought about and finally after several years got to it. Wow, so many missed opportunities! Wonderfully expansive place. Just walking around it took us 4 hrs. Despite all the building being closed thanks to covid, these folks could provide for lunch - and it was delicious! Parking is plentiful and the gardens are really beautiful. I regained 10 years of my life in a few hours here. A must see.
