I’m harboring a slightly unhealthy obsession with George Washington and never knew that this monument existed. It’s a small hike uphill to an amazing view and really cool stone monument. It was way more than I expected and am so glad we visited.

The Washington Monument is worth a drive out to see it. There is in fact a parking lot only a few hundred yards down the hill. The view of the mountain ridges and valleys in Maryland is impressive. It boggles my mind however, how few...More

Interesting history of Washington’s achievements. While we were happy to pay to support the park, it is an easy walk if you park at the lower parking lot and walk up (saves you the small fee). The views were spectacular! This is something for the...More

There is a short walk from the car park to the monument. No need to go to the upper car park where you have to pay unless you want to avoid a five minute walk. The views from the top are good. I'd like to...More
