This place is only open 3 days a week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A line was already forming when I arrived at 9:45 a.m. ( opening time is 10:00 a.m. on Friday).

I bought our favorite stuffs from two vendors here: Chicken Salad, Potato Salad and Rice Pudding from "Mom's Pantry" and Sausage Cooper Sandwich plus 2 pretzels from "Lapps Soft Pretzels". Note that the latter is now accepting credit cards for payments, used to accept cash only.

We enjoyed my purchases from the above vendors. They were freshly made and very delicious, especially the Chicken Salad. It tasted like the one I would make at home.

Service was fast and friendly. At "Mom's Pantry", I had to take a number. When my number was called, the staff quickly filled my orders.

The vendors selling nuts and chocolate, fresh fruits and vegetables, fried chicken, etc. were all ready to sell their stuffs. I would try their products when I return to this market. I wish they are open daily! Highly recommended!

I'm in pretzel heaven. I haven't been to the Lancaster county Dutch market in Germantown and many many years probably at least 15 years. I used to love coming to get the pretzel logs all the time. I got a jalapeno and cheese pretzel log, sausage and Cooper cheese pretzel blog, cinnamon sugar regular pretzel and a sour cream and onion regular pretzel. I had both the pretzel logs and the cinnamon sugar pretzel and they were hot fresh and delicious I wish they were open more than Thursday Friday and Saturday but it's definitely worth it to wait till those days to go and get some freshly made products. Lapp soft pretzels now takes credit cards instead of cash only. I will definitely be back!!!

Very clean and welcoming, the Lancaster Dutch market has a great selection of food items including meats, cheeses, salads, vegetables, donuts, pies, pretzels, jams, baking mixes. pickles and lots more. There is also a wide selection of prepared foods including fried chicken, ribs, mac and cheese and the like. Prices are a bit on the high side but the selection is great and everything looks fresh.

You should only buy the stuff they make on site. There's a lot of general groceries they bring in from random places that have no business being here. Fruits, veggies, anything in a bag or box or can, you should avoid. The chocolates are just chocolates they literally took out of the box and put in a display. Waxy junk. The bakery is also famously bad.

On to the good! The fresh fruit juice is really good. The chicken alone is worth the trip. It is by far the best fried chicken in the entire state. You've never had fried chicken like this! No fast-food place even gets close. The pretzels they make in front of you are likewise, the best to be had for ready money. The Sausage Cooper is just a symphony of flavors, cheeses, breads, everything coming together for a fresh, piping hot match made in heaven.

The pulled pork parties they sometimes have are incredible and worth planning a weekend around. Really high quality pulled pork.

The fly in the ointment is that they don't actually make their own wing sauce. They use Frank's Red Hot and Sweet Baby Ray's which are both really good but... can you guys do anything except for pretzels and chicken?

No, no they cannot. Just stick to the pretzels and chicken and you'll be amazed. If you buy the cheese or the furniture or any of the other junk they have, you'll be disappointed.

I bought two slices of cake (buy one get one free) from Zooks Cheese and Cheesecakes. The German chocolate cake slice was both old and there was mold on the icing. They must have known the cake was old, that is why they had the BOGO deal. Will not be purchasing from them anymore.

I was very excited to finally try this place out. When I arrived, there was a guy holding the door for everyone. It wasn't very packed on the inside at all. My visit lasted for about 10 minutes. Next time I will explore a little more but, I had a meeting to attend so I had to get in and out. I got the fried chicken and potato wedges from Kings BBQ. The chicken skin was flavorful, however, the meat itself, while juicy, didn't impress me flavorwise. The potatoes were pretty good and bigger than the traditional variety. I also purchased some sweet tea from Zooks cheese. I didn't notice until I got home that there was something floating in the bottle. I don't know what it was (mold?) but I went ahead and shook the bottle then took a swig. It wasn't very sweet and had a weird taste. Overall, it wasn't horrible for my first time going. I'm going to give this place another shot BUT, I will not get the tea again. Hopefully I will be able to try some of the pretzel dogs, doughnuts and meats and produce. The prices are competitive for some items and not so much for others.

I have always generally liked shopping at these types of markets BUT this time was the exception. As I approached the stall that sold berries, I noticed a few Driscoll strawberry boxes being placed aside by the proprietor. When I questioned her about purchasing Driscoll strawberries, she responded that they didn't sell them. I asked her why Driscoll strawberries were at the stall and her face turned pale. I realized that they were simply emptying Driscoll strawberries into their own green paper cartons and selling them as if they were grown on a family farm at an increased price - so, in effect THEY WERE BEING LESS THAN HONEST ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE SELLING. When I called her on it, she said they weren't doing anything illegal, and in fact, they weren't - but they knew what the consumer was concluding. So, please do not be FOOLED. These merchants can be just as dishonest as any other merchant.

Virtually all the items are Edible Food-like Substances loaded with garbage.

Most items don't list ingredients. The ones that do show preservatives, natural flavor, artificial flavor, artificial colors, etc.

The pretzels look great and you can see the dough rising. Then they put some glaze on it. They didn't have the ingredients for either.

The bakery has a sign up saying no preservatives, yet the ingredients on the packages include with other chemicals. The donuts look great. They showed us the ingredients for the mix they use for the cake donuts...nasty. The yeast donuts are real! But then they slather them with "chocolate" which is actually Brill Chocolate Flavored Frosting. Here are the ingredients for that: SUGAR, VEGETABLE SHORTENING (PALM OIL, CANOLA OIL), WATER, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, CORN SYRUP, COCOA, COCOA (PROCESSED WITH ALKALI). CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES, POLYSORBATE 60, SALT, SOY LECITHIN, POTASSIUM SORBATE (PRESERVATIVE), CITRIC ACID, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR.

WOW! what a great and fun place to visit. The selection is amazing. All kinds of goodies, BBQ, Fried Chicken, and everything in between. Great bakery selections; bread, cookies, pretzels, cakes, pies, on and on and on. Nice to get back to the way food should be prepared. LCDM is a must visit. Leave yourself ample time, at least an hour, to experience the entire LCDM.
