We had a fabulous trip! Lane did an excellent job communicating what to expect and how to react on this challenging river with Class IV and V rapids. All six of us, aged 20-60 had a blast. I was nervous and wondered if we were up to the challenge. I will say you don’t need to be an athlete, but you do need to be in reasonable shape. Due to the dam release, you are not paddling all the time. But when they say paddle, you need to paddle! It helps to have a good center of gravity and the ability to crawl back into a boat if you are fall out. The trip took about a total of 4 hours, including the ride up to the put in point. The first 30 minutes was a leisurely ride through beautiful country. The next two hours plus was an exhilarating ride through the rapids. I can’t saw enough about how Precision Rafting approached the safety aspects of our trip on the Upper Yough! They had safety boats and kayakers in position as each boat hit the rapids. This is a narrow river so the boats are smaller. We had one person from each boat in our immediate party take a dip and the guides and safety team were on them and had them back in the boat in seconds. Highly recommend this trip!!

My 14-year-old son and I did the Upper Yough trip with Scotty as our guide. This was an amazing trip; we had SO much fun! It was only my second time rafting and my son's third time, but with the excellent guidance, it definitely felt do-able to do this trip even with the Class 4 and 5 rapids. Scotty was terrific in telling us what to do when. We both fell out of the boat at one point and were very quickly aided by the staff. They had 3 kayakers accompanying the rafts in order to help anyone who needed it; also, the raft guides would pause the rafts periodically and get out to position themselves to help guests from following rafts just in case it was needed. I really was impressed with how well they coordinated as a team. I saw that one group of girls and their mom was super nervous going into the trip and Roger assigned them an ultra experienced, calm guide who could take them through even if they weren't able to do a whole lot of paddling themselves. We also appreciated the many safety precautions given covid. Precision Rafting is a quality company; they definitely know what they're doing and are super friendly people. And the Upper Yough is a fun adrenalin rush! I'd love to do it again sometime.

This trip is an adrenaline pumping experience. I've been on 10 rafting trips in various rivers in West Virginia and Colorado and this trip was the most thrilling by far. We rafted on 4-17-21 on a cold day and had a blast. Precision Rafting is a highly professional operation. The Upper Yough is a difficult, technical river, but we felt safe the entire trip due to the competence and care of the guides and the support kayak team. We fell out at the National class 5 rapid and were quickly rescued. I never felt in danger because as soon as I popped up, a kayak was there to support me. Also, our guide Scott was fantastic. I highly recommend Precision Rafting.

At the ages of 66 and 62 we absolutely loved our first whitewater rafting experience. Precision Rafting is a highly professional company. I was slightly nervous being a first timer and taking on class IV and V rapids. Roger was very thorough with his safety course. Lane was our guide and was fantastic. He meticulously guided us through the Upper Yough. I felt safe and confident after the first few rapids and was able to really relax and enjoy the experience. We had to do our part and follow Lane's instructions , but what an awesome ride! This company is top notch. If you are considering taking on the Upper Yough, definitely consider Precision Rafting.

My family went rafting this past Friday on the upper Yough and had to split into two boats (3 and 2). Warren and Haze were our guides. We had a great time despite (or because of) the very technical and rigorous rapids. Unfortunately, my 14 YO daughter fell in more than a few times and was quite shaken and banged up toward the end. Haze was great with her and very serious about safety. My only advice would be to really consider the confidence level of your group before taking this on. My daughter was a bit nervous and had an injured ankle, both of which contributed to her falling out of the raft numerous times. She says that she will never try class IV or V rapids again, but I say, “never say never.” The food and drink at the end of the ride is a very nice touch. There is a photographer who goes along with the group and takes photos throughout the trip down the River. We paid $70 for photos of our two boats and can’t wait to see them!

If you want to take a whitewater rafting trip on the Youghiogheny or Cheat river, this is the outfit you want.

We had an amazing time rafting on the Cheat river today with Roger and his team. They truly do focus on safety and have guides with years of experience running the rafts. Our guide, Jeff, was absolutely great and super knowledgeable about the river, the rapids, local history, and he only told one “river guide joke”. We will 100% be coming back to whitewater raft with them again.

This was a fantastic trip. Roger runs a wonderful operation. Everything was very professional safe and fun. There were six of us ranging from wild to mild and the group was able to handle everything with ease and comfort. We had Lane guide in one boat and Jeff Jettet in another. Both guys customized the trip to our passengers. Enough thrills for a lifetime but enough safety to make everybody feel good. Go go go! This is an outstanding outfitter. No wonder they are the best rated in town!

If you read nothing else, raft with this group.
Longer review. I've rafted with 4 different companies and by far this was the best experience, such that I did three trips with them (would do more if I lived near the area). In my trips, I did two kayak rides (Thrillseeker) and one rafting trip. Roger, the owner, has exceptional experience and knowledge and it shows. His focus on safety is unlike the other companies I've rafted with yet he manages this without intruding on the fun. His staff is excelllent and my first experience with Jeff is a big reason I returned for further rides (as a minor bonus you don't get those overused lame rafting jokes). The three runs I went on (Lower Yough, Uppder Yough & Cheat canyon) were far more excing than the others as well (such that I got thrown a few times, and that is its own form of fun as well). With the kayak runs, I was also provided very helpful instruction that I never got on the other kayak/duckie trips. So, if you want safety, good exciting runs and great people, this is who you need to ride with.

I had a great couple days on the river with Precision. The first day I R2'd with Patrick on the Upper Yough and was blown away by that river. Roger and the whole staff were amazing and the whole trip was having fun. I certainly had an amazing time. The next day I ran the Savage in Laine's boat and it was a treat. The Savage only runs 3 times a year but it's beautiful. It's a wild ride.

If you're rafting the Upper Yough or the Savage, go Precision. Thanks!
