Designed by Arthur Hills with passionate golfers in mind, River Downs features an 18-hole, par 72 championship layout certain to challenge players of all skill and experience levels. Come test your skills and conquer one of the most challenging courses in the mid-Atlantic. River Downs features 150 feet of elevation change from the highest to lowest point on the course. Tough course but fun if you go with the right state of mind. Think: playing this course will challenge me. Don’t expect to tee the same ball on 18 as you did on 1. Bring some balls you don’t mind losing. All in all, course is fun if you manage your expectations. Owners try real hard to keep course as friendly as possible, and the terrain presents some interesting holes. The practice area is superb!

The course layout is difficult to follow from some holes to the next one. The greens were in terrible condition. There was an issue with the fee quoted on the internet and at the course but was resolved. It should be noted that the weather has been very wet this Golf season.
