This is a great place to get info not only on Old Ellicott City, but all of Howard County. There are all kinds of brochures on various attractions, hotels, restaurants etc. The people working here genuinely enjoy their job and talking to people. They can give you all sorts of info and insights on the area. Also, the bathrooms are clean!!

Better than most. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable on the OEC town. They have been trying to encourage folks to come back OEC - shop & eat. A few places have reopened, but a noticeable number of shoppes are still empty. Government is talking about removing some of the buildings that straddle the creek in order to widen it - not sure how the welcome center will handle explaining that, but I'm sure that they will do a good job.

We stopped by the Welcome Center to ask about hiking trails in the area. The two ladies being the counter could not have been nicer or more helpful. Not only they they come with tips, but went online and got driving directions and addresses for us. If you need anything or have any questions about the area or things to do just ask in here.
The building is a beautiful old post office and is stocked full of info, brochures and displays.

So don't judge me but the one and only time I've ever been in here was to use the bathroom. The front desk guys were super sweet and I literally was in there for a few minutes.

Stop in for maps, event calendars, HoCo and OEC (Old Ellicott City) items - coasters, mugs, T-shirts, etc...and check out the beautiful old building w/the original teller windows!

Ellicott City offers history, beauty and wonderful shops. The shop owners have endured a great deal following the devastating floods. They were able to rebuild and restore the quaint and Elegance of this great City. Visit the shops and restaurants and guaranteed to find treasure. We live in Maryland and Ellicott City is our favorite place to visit. We especially love Southwest Connection, Banji which is the newest of shops and offers beautifully crafted jewelry. All of the shop owners have a special story.

I have been here a few times. The people are very well informed and can tell you anything about what to do in Howard County.

This should be your first stop when visiting Howard County Maryland. You'll find lots of brochures and trained folks willing to assist in whatever you might need. They can even plan a trip itinerary. Why venture out without their help?

This is a great place to find out about local attractions. Be sure to ask about the ghost tours, especially around Halloween!

The welcome center is in an old post office and has managed to preserve the old charm from a simpler time. It was well staffed with two pleasant staffers. Enough information available to custom your trip and maximize your vacation time.In the basement is a Howard county police department museum. Very simple but tastefully done.
