We came up here for a picnic and to hike. The hiking was a little too steep for me and my husband, but our 30 something kids loved it with their dog. It is a simple and rustic place with picnic tables, porta potties and...More

Sugarloaf Mountain is a nice, understated spot with woods, a variety of trails of differing difficulty, and good views of the Maryland countryside. Calling it a "mountain" works only for east coast folks, of course (barely over 1,000 feet at the summit), but it is...More

We came to hike Sugarloaf a couple weekend ago, on a beautiful cool fall day. Everyone else came to hike too! And their dogs and their small children. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many kids on the trails.. good for their parents getting...More

Beautiful hike through open woods. Lots of trail options, well marked with fresh signs, some excellent views. Would be good for an all-day jaunt on the 10 mile trail.

A friend from me up Sugarloaf for a fall visit. Nice that non-hikers and still get a mountain-top view. Would be a pretty place for a picnic in nature.

My wife and I made our last trip up Sugar Loaf Mountain. We are older now, but to make this a fantastic trip up. The views from the top are outstanding. Young and older can make this trip. Go slow and take it easy.

It depends on how long of a hike you want. I parked at the bottom and hiked all the way up. As the other person said, there is also parking near the top if you just want to see the sights and do a short walk to the summit.
