Beautiful area to visit. You may see an eagle or 2. Very impressive when the dam is opened . The trails are nice and well kept. I've always been partial to the area.

Just passing you can see numerous birds including BALD EAGLES. There is a trail below that you can walk along the river into Havre de Grace

Interesting scenery as you drive across the dam. Lake on one side and a very rocky, shallow river bed on the other. Most interesting were the bald eagles in the trees below the dam on the north side of the river. I assumed they might be ospreys since I have never seen that many in one place, but the local... I saw 6 bald eagles flying around looking like they were just having fun. It is so cool to see them outside of a zoo or refuge setting. Well worth the trip!

You don't have to go to Alaska to see lots of Eagles. We saw several Eagles right at the Conowingo Dam. In addition to Eagle and bird watching, there is a,very nice rail trail. I would say in one month this trail will be surrounded by wild flowers.

First, you need to drive across the dam to feel the immenseness of the Power Plant, see the reservoir on one side, and the river below on the left. On the south side of the river, follow the signs to the Fisherman's area. There's parking along a road where you can either sit in your car and watch the river... More

One of the oldest damns in America and still going strong. I've lived near this place for over 10 years and still love going down and fishing on the low side. Bald eagles everywhere hunting so you're bound to snap a pic of one. Definitely a must see if in the area.

We've been going to Conowingo Dam for several years now. The last four year s we've been meeting my parents there on Black Friday. My wife and I went a few weeks prior to that as well. It's a great place to see the many bald eagles, especially when they dive down to grab a fish in the water. This... More
