I broke a rear wheel spoke 14 miles from Cumberland on a Sunday afternoon. Dropped bike at CTC that evening and it was fixed next day with gears tuned, they were new and just broken in, so that bike was better than it went in.

Great work, good advice - thanks Joe for putting me back on the trail swiftly

Broke two spokes on my bike wheel on my way to a shuttle pickup before a planned 45 mile bike ride on the Great Allegheny Passage. That would have killed my biking vacation if this shop had not been available to fix the broken spokes in less than one day. They saved the rest of my vacation and allowed me to experience the wonderful GAP.

The shop has a wide, thoughtful selection of biking accessories and packable refreshments. It is right on the GAP/C&O trail at their junction, very handy. Besides the repair which was done perfectly, I bought several supplies and a pump better matching my bike.

They also offer a shuttle service to drop off rider and bike in either direction from Cumberland on GAP or C&O Trail. Very helpful if you are based in Cumberland as I was.

I rented 2 bikes from CTC for a 35 mile trip on the GAP trail. Excellent and friendly customer service.

I'll definitely rent from CTC again.

From the inquiry phone call on Sunday to Tuesday morning, everything went smoothly.

The shop has rentals, repairs and insight on the trail.

They run shuttles from DC to Pittsburgh, which are tailored to the wants of the customers.

We were shuttled from Cumberland to Deal, about 25 miles up the GAP.
The driver, Chuck, was very personable, efficient and professional.

What a beautiful experience that we had! And couldn't have done it without Cumberland Trail Connections!

This place was a great start to our GAP bike trip and a life saver at the end of the first day. They tuned up our bikes and we got a helmet - prices are ok for a bike shop but the service is great. Then when we couldn't finish out planned leg of the trip, they came and picked us up in Frostburg and totally saved our trip. Thanks guys!

For 10 bucks an hour or 20 bucks for anything over that, its a good deal. The bikes are very modern and very well maintained. We only wanted an hour so we biked up the narrows for 30 minutes and then returned. All went well and happy with our choice. Very good location.

My husband and I rented bikes here to do a portion of GAP. I called ahead and got a lot of good info about the trail and learned that this shop will shuttle you from Cumberland to Frostburg or Deal, for a fee of course, but less than the cost of train tickets on the Western Scenic Railroad (need to reserve and pay half cost in advance). We opted to go to Deal so we could experience Eastern Continental Divide and tunnels on a 25-mile mostly downhill ride to Cumberland, with a lunch stop in Frostburg. The shuttle driver (may have been the manager) gave us good restaurant recommendations and tips on riding the trail. The shop is right on the trail so you could go on the C&O towpath instead of GAP. The bikes we were given were top notch Cannonade and Verve hybrids, and we had a great ride!

Biking in from Pittsburgh and on my way to DC, I assumed that this was going to be a stop where I could get great advice about what was ahead of me on the C&O Canal as well as stock up on supplies to carry me along my adventure.

Sadly, the gentleman working when I passed through (as my wife experienced several weeks later as well), was not at all friendly or helpful. When your store specializes in cycling and is called the Trail Connection, one might want to actually help cyclists who are passing through. Guess that's not part of their business plan.

Actually, I was even told by several locals that I met on the trail that they weren't friendly but the only option for cycling supplies near the trail, so one has to assume that this is their M.O.

Really too bad. It could be a fantastic resource for promoting the C&O Canal/GAP Trail.

I stopped at CTC on my ride from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh, PA. I needed to restock some nutritional items and they had everything I needed. And I used their free bike wash, which was a really great service. My chain was so dirty from riding all day on trail. The shop seems to have anything you might need.

When riding the GAP these are the guys to see at the 0 mile marker in Cumberland. They have anything that you or your bike might need in their shop. Our experience with this shop was a little different (great) in nature. We were riding the Amtrak train back to Pittsburgh at night and these guys stored our bikes overnight for us so we could come the next day to pick them up. Amtrak is getting new cars built to accommodate bikes as cargo. We gave a donation to their tips jar as they wouldn't take any money for keeping our bikes overnight. Again THANK YOU Josh and crew at Cumberland Trail Connection bike shop for going above and beyond for customer service.
