I do a lot of travel along the C&O routte and have been to multiple museums. This is a hidden gem. Interactive museum with life-like displays I haven't seen anywhere else. Friendly staff made it that much more enjoyable.

The canal was a key aspect of our nations growth in the early to mid 1800s. This park helps tell part of the the story of that role.

The C&O Canal Museum is free, and it provides an interesting history into the Cumberland area and the history of the Canal. They are really trying to bring culture into the area and I'm hopeful they can prevail, as it is a nice forgotten town....More
