The staff was very friendly and very informative. While they were busy they did not seem hassled and appeared to enjoy their interactions.

My husband and I visited here when we were in downtown Cumberland. He is a history buff, so we very much enjoyed the elaborate museum they have in back. The staff was also very friendly and helpful

They have a great expedition of the canal and its workings. There is also a gift shop, and a live person to answer questions

I love this visitor center. It is always staffed. It has a tiny gift area, and plenty of brochures. The other side has a large display area with historical displays. There is a nice fountain outside with many benches and a children's play area.

Learn about the history of Western Maryland while walking and interacting with the exhibits located in the building. The exhibit walk lets you go at your own pace. Look, hear, touch and learn.

This is where you would purchase tickets for the Western Maryland Scenic Raidroad, which loads and leaves from the station on the backside of this building. There is a restaurant, gift shop, museum, and bathrooms. I use to work here on the train. Very nice.
