I recently took a group of 13 motorhomes at this park. I hadn't told them we were a group but they figured it out before we got there because of all the reservations coming in all at once in their slow season. Some of the most beautiful campgrounds in the country are our state parks but the staff are not... More

Love this campground. Very well maintained and gorgeous views from the sites on the canal. You can rent kayaks for 10.00 and hour or 50.00 for the whole day. Did this last time. Can get a bit buggy depending on the weather but not too bad in September. Wish they had more pet site as they can fill fast.

Perfect area to kayak. If it's windy it can be challenging. There are beaches you can kayak to for breaks. The bathrooms at the park were clean and had showers.

Went fishing, crabbing from the pier. My neice went swimming on the small beach. Beautifull sunsets.

We love to come to Janes island and go camping. Nice and quiet. Lots of wooded sites. There are sites for bringing your pets.Nice place to go for walks and go crabbing. They also have a boat dock. You can also rent row boats.

This is considered an outstanding canoe/kayak set of trails, and says it's very well marked. The signs on the trails inside the island itself are pretty well marked, but not as great as they can be. If you travel around the outside of the island, it is very easy to miss Dougherty Creek Canal that gets you back to the... More

This state park on the Chesapeake Bay has miles of paddling trails, many of the in protected channels off the Bay. I paddled the "A" route and saw lots of wildlife. The trails are very well marked The employees in the Park office were very friendly and helpful. Although I did not camp there, I did bike through the campground... More

I am somewhat local to the area so we went for the first time to kayak. Everyone who works there is very helpful and pleasant. Many water trails that lead to beaches or just around the islands. A fun adventure. I would like to go back and camp someday!

We loved our stay! Very relaxing and although we didn't kayak, we did walk the trails through the Forrest every day and we biked them too. Overall this actually is one of the nicer State Parks we have been to if you (like we were) are looking for a nice relaxing time to bond with nature and enjoy the peace... More

My family and I didn't really enjoy this park as we thought we would. We stay in loop C site 78. The horse flies are TERRIBLE. They literally follow you to the rest room. Also the men's bathroom in loop C smells awful. This truly would be an amazing park if it weren't for the horse flies and mosquito bugs.... More
