We ate at The Bayside Inn and had a good lunch. You must have the Smith Island Cake. It's like nothing else I'd ever eaten. 8 or 10 layers? Who can count when they're that thin, but it was delicious. There are a couple of...More

Boat trip was very nice from Crisfield but the 2.5 hours was a disappointment on the island. We were hoping to see a lot more of the island but it was very limited. No trails hardly and not much to do. We rented a golf...More

This is a fairly populated little island that is pretty much resided by crabbers. There is a very small museum and their “famous” Smith Island cakes, but this is really just a place where people live. It’s very quiet, older homes and not much to...More

We enjoyed the cruise to Smith Island, had a delicious lunch at The Bayside Inn, loved to hear the history of the Island, rented a golf cart and rode around the island. The museum is a must see when you go.

Wonderful and interesting place to visit. The ferry ride from Crisfield as a little less than an hour. Taking the ferry over, there's a little pressure to rush to lunch at the restaurant where the ferry lands, I would advise packing a lunch to eat...More

My car got broken into and that was in the time I parked just LOOKING for cruise tickets, which are not for sale until July so that's a 5 hour drive that was a total waste of time.

I just returned from a retreat on Smith Island with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and learned so much. First of all, Smith Island is actually made up of three island communities: Tylerton, (population of about 45) Ewell, (population of around 100) and Rhodes Island (which...More

There really isn't much at Smith, but you would need to check. We did not recall seeing anything for rent there. Crisfield had more and their marina was very nice.

I did not see anyone bringing their bikes on the boat, you board the boat in Crisfield, MD. Smith Island is not very big, you can rent golf carts, many people were walking around, the museum is well worth the trip.

The ferry ride is 45 minutes. We left Crisfield at 12:30. We were on Smith Island by 1 and had to be back at the dock at 3:45 to head back to Crisfield. We had plenty of time to explore it all in those 2 hours we were there.
