Just inside the beltway off of Connecticut Ave is the Audubon Society. It’s a nature preserve with many cool things located very close to WDC. For bird watchers, critter watchers or just a pleaseant hike in nature this is a fantastic spot.

This is a beautiful location that I never knew was there. We were invited to a wedding here and it was just perfect. If the weather cooperates, and you do not have too large of a crowd, it's a homerun!!

Nice to walk in the woods, you will see different kind of birds, deers, foxes and even coyotes (the last one, someone told me!). They have also a summer camp that was very good.

It is open to the public. I don't believe admission charge. They do have a book, bird seed and feeder shop. Book shop is great for kids, grown ups, amateurs and real birders.
