Guy was insane. And he is farmer John. He assulted me and my kids tryed to run his vehicle into ours and cursed us out . He also did something really sexually inappropriate in front of my kids. Can't even say it. Police said he had to have exposed himself during that performance to be arrested. Just stay away from... More

We have only ever explored the Hammerman Area of this park but it is one of our absolute favorites. The beach here is so lovely. You're swimming in the Gunpowder River which they rope off and have barriers built in so that there really is little to no current in the swimming area. There is a nice stretch of sand... More

Visited on a Wed. $3.00 admission per person at the gate. Clean park with sand brought in to make it look like a beach. Huge changing rooms with clean restrooms at the bath house. Plenty of shade trees near picnic tables just west of the beach, with a large parking lot near the beach. Pretty view of the bay. Nice... More

It's so easy to get here, it's great for family gatherings...very casual...u can bring ur grill...tents...hammocks...flotation devices...everything to make ur visit enjoyable...i like to bring crabs or stop at the royal... This is an awesome place . Lifeguards are great but I always stay in the water.. even with my teen son and friends. We are the best protectors . There are plenty of spots to have a cookout in the shade. If you have kids toddlers to tweens there are summer camps (busloads) that arrive. Sometimes they are unsupervised .... More

Was really beautiful there and the scenic walk in the park was very enjoyable and relaxing. Unfortunately we weren't prepared to go inner tubing, but will be for next time. the train station was interesting and the park worker was very informative.

We visited the beach and water sport area of Gunpowder Falls. I highly recommend and will be returning. The facilities were clean, the water and sand beautiful, and we felt safe in a serene and friendly environment. Affordable for both resident and non resident, the visit was special and a most memorable experience. We had lots of fun!

First, this state park is actually many park areas, and the environment in each is somewhat unique. We have been to a number of the areas, mostly for hiking, and also for kayaking in the "Hammerman Beach" area, renting our gear from Ultimate Watersports, which is located there. The kayaking was good. The water is very wide there, and the... More

It is so peaceful to take a walk through Gunpowder Falls State Park. I would recommend allowing enough time (20 minutes each way) to go back to the falls. They are very relaxing and the trail back is fairly simple to hike.

Plenty of path options with various degrees of difficulty, but nothing truly difficult. A great way to burn a few hours of kid energy off as they walk, run and clamber their way around. Parking can be an issue if you're not first and the day is nice. Other than that, pack some water and snacks and you're all good.
