Hiked here in January 2019, three adults and two 8-year-old boys. The hike was manageable for the kids and they loved the rocks at the top.

There is lots of parking on Rte. 40 at the trailhead, but the lot fills up quickly. Arrive early or you will be waiting for someone to leave in order to get a parking space. The view from Annapolis Rock is worth the wait though!...More

Nice hike with great view. Go early to avoid the crowds. Muddy in parts after a rainy week. Big paved parking area.

We had a great hike...it is challenging, and slightly strenuous at first, but levels out. Be sure to check out the rock formations a little beyond the various ledges and overlooks. Spectacular indeed.

Great place to climb and camp, very helpful volunteers around the area. Tons of people come here for the two hour trek up the trail to the lookout point

What a great piece of the Appalachian Trail to use as our first A.T. experience with our 12 year old. We hiked the 2.5 miles from the parking lot off of Highway 40 to Annapolis Rock on a beautiful sunny day. Constant canopy provided shade...More

It is a great first hike...gorgeous....worth the effort...varied terrain. Take plenty of water because it is a moderately difficult hike...especially for a first timer, but totally doable!
