I went here a little over a month ago to see Widows with my wife and everything was good except for the seating. It was clean...The picture and sound was good but that was it. The seats are comfortable but do not recline and have zero leg room. When I say zero I mean ZERO! It's so bad that you have to bump every person on the row when getting to your seat. When people get up during the movie they are bumping every person on their row to get out. The people on the end and a couple seats in would just get up and stand on the steps to let people in and out. It was the weirdest experience at a movie theater. Even the worst theaters have some leg room! I guess they were really trying to maximize profits so they crammed the rows as close as possible. But it was still packed with folks. Probably because of the location and the type of crowd that attends. I can't believe the reviews are so good with this seat situation. It was a very aggravating experience.

I go to movies a lot and Bethesda Row used to be my favorite. Then, about two years ago the theatres were redesigned and the rows, i.e. walking space in front of seats, became narrower. Now I go as little as possible. Arclight opened up about 4 miles from Bethesda Row and it's a much better theatre in every respect..
THE QUESTIONS BELOW ARE NOT REALLY APPLICABLE TO MOVIE THEATRES.

The Bethesda Row Cinema features unique films that are a cut above the ordinary movie experience. We have been going there for a number of years and are always stimulated by what we see. The cinema is very comfortable and always clean. It is highly recommended. They also feature simulcasts of live performances such as the Royal Opera House in London. Surely beats traveling all the way and you actually get to see the faces of the performers.

The cinema shows many excellent films that other movie houses do not. This is a very well maintained group of theatres. It seems as though, probably because of the more art house fare, there never is the trash and sticky floors of the mall theatres.
Prices are a bit higher , but so is the comfort level and the friendly staff.

The most interesting films are shown here and can be viewed from the most comfortable reserved seats in town.

This movie theater runs the best movies in the suburbs and also shows some of the best artfilms and cinema series on the weekends. The seats are comfortable, the prices are high, but the acoustics are excellent.

I don't like going down an escalator to see movies. But one of the best places in Bethesda to independent and artistic movies. The theater could use a face lift

Nice place, big comfortable seats, full bar, real butter on popcorn.
A bit expensive, but that seems reasonable.
Parking is a little tight in Bethesda, but on weekends you can park in the garage down the street for free if you can find a place.
Assigned seats, which isn't something you see a lot here in the US, but it works out OK.

The best place in the greater DC are for foreign and indie movies, the popcorn is very good and after the session you can stroll through downtown's many good restaurants, Mon Amy Gaby is one of my favourites.

Bethesda Row is in a very convenient section of Bethesda - in the heart of Bethesda on Woodmont Avenue. Generally they offer only top-notch films both American and Foreign made. They frequently show films that are not in general release. They are part of the same group as the DC E-Street theater. The seating is gret with great viewing angles from any where and in all of the theaters within. In addition the snack bar has good treats, although a bit pricey. A nice plus you can order your tickets in advance and pick them up at the machines inside the front door.
