This is aptly named as it's a short stretch of sand, but it's a gem of a beach. It's got a fantastic Boardwalk with an adjacent park, making it handicap-accessible as well as a great place to take your dog for an evening stroll. There are plenty of park benches, too, in case you want to watch the sunset. And,... More

Loved this beach. Parking is a bit tough - bring change to feed the meters. Tide moves in quick and the beach disappears - but it is worth the trip. Water was very clear - beach and bathhouse was very clean. Water was chilly - but refreshing.

Although small compared to some, this beach is beautiful & has anything one would expect.. It's great for everyone - there's a grassy area, a playground & a boardwalk that leads to an arcade & the main drag of York Beach, Maine. This being my first time, I was surprised only in that it was everything I expected - people... More

Love this beach- parking can be a challenge, but the sand is so soft and very few rocks in the water. There are public washrooms, and good food nearby. Fun shops to walk into and shop at.

This is a beautiful beach that is quintessential summer with a boardwalk right next to it (ice cream, indoor mini golf, bowling, arcade, souvenir shops, ice cream, food, and salt water taffy!). It has not changed much in the 50 years that I have been going there and that is its charm. I stayed at a hotel overlooking this beach... More

Love this beach! Sand, water, grass area and playground. The bathrooms have been updated. Great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Browns ice cream is closed but Dunne's is pretty good too and walkable but no sidewalks so be careful.

Short Sands beach is a beautiful beach. Since sand on the beach as well as in the water. It is new England so the water is chilly but comfortable. Waves are big enough for a little body boarding but not so big you have to worry about under tow. The bathrooms are on site had plenty of stalls, were well... More

While it may take awhile to find a parking spot at Short Sands, it is worth it(Bring plenty of quarters as you pay per 15 minutes). The beach is in a bit of a cove, so the waves do not come in as fast and hard as Long Sands. The kids will love using the boogie boards to catch a... More

Nice view and fairly easy to find parking comparable to other places. No beach if the tide is even close to being in. When its out, you're laying/sitting on wet hard gray "sand". I nice prequel to the freezing water.
