Beautiful beach with lots of sand and ocean water. There are rocks and waves and even an undercurrent at times. Twice per day it undergoes a low and high tide, and depending on the weather, you might experience a sea breeze of minor or major magnitude. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a saltwater sandy beach within the confines of York, Maine.

What a beautiful beach. We were there in the middle of October so most of the tourists were somewhere else and there was lots of room to walk or just sit in a chair and watch the waves. We had little time here and would like to return.

This one-mile (1.6 km) beach was overwhelmed with visitors from far-flung places on a late-summer weekend afternoon. Even though high season had ended, the narrow strand was absolutely jammed with bodies of all types seeking salty surf and the last of the summer sun. The beach appeared mostly clean and free of flotsam. It offered great views of Nubble Lighthouse on distant Cape Neddick. Metered parking was curbside. Open parking spots were few and very far between. We loved the views, but we abhorred the parking hassle and the lack of sand surface at approaching high tide. If we come again, it will be much earlier in the day and on a weekday.

I am so glad I didn’t go to the tourist attraction and came to this beach instead. The pictures will speak for themselves.

what a nice clean beach that runs for quite a while with very clean sand. Small waves make it nice for the kids. One of the better beaches in the Maine area.

Great beach! Perfect for sun bathing, swimming (water is cold but feels great on a hot day) or for taking a relaxing, long walk at the water's edge and getting lost in your thoughts. Can't beat the beautiful views!

After visiting Ogunquit on humid 87 F day, I drove along Long Beach Avenue. As I drove, I watched the car’s thermometer display go down to 70 F in less than three minutes.

Once I got to one of my preferred sections of Long Sands Beach, I parked and got out.

A strong onshore breeze was the source of the rapid cool-down. The wind was also blowing waves closer to each other so that several waves broke with two feet of each other. That made for a lot of white caps together. The wave action was interesting to watch.

I walked along the beach for awhile. The tide was out, so there was lots of beach this time. That created plenty of room for everybody to walk and maintain social distancing.

It was a nice visit to the beach.

I think that Long Sands Beach is one of the best beaches in Maine. I rate this experience at 4.5.

Love this beach, it has a touch of England to it. So much wide open space, and the Atlantic Ocean is spectacular. A great place to spend an hour or an entire day. Plenty of parking too.

The day after Thanksgiving...and Long Sands beckoned us for a long walk. There's a lot of beach to enjoy. Walkers, dog walkers, surfers, metal detectors, people of all ages. You have scenic views of Boone island, and Nubble Light. The Bath House in the middle has facilities. Parking spaces along the street.
