This is a beautiful 19th-century house (1807/1859) on a hill that overlooks the Sheepscot River. Most of the furnishings are well over 100 years old. The tour was informative, but very long, and I got tired of all the extra information and the standing. Fees are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors; and $4 for students.

We stumbled upon this beautiful property exploring this tiny Maine town! A historical gem on a stunning piece of property overlooking the water. Open only parts of the year so make sure it’s open when you go to visit!

We pulled up, tried to follow the confusing signs, rang a buzzer, tried to open the door thinking we could walk in to purchase a tour, and nothing. 3 of us couldn’t figure out where to go for the tour. I snapped a couple pictures of the outside and we left. They need to have a better system or direction for the tours.
