We recently stopped at the Maine Tasting Center and were impressed by its quality and range of offerings. We had a cheese and charcuterie board plus other small plates. Everything was well-made and presented and tasted great. Really appreciate the effort the owners have put into sourcing local Maine foods and beverages.

Please support this wonderful new business (just opened) that showcases Maine food and drink. My husband and I enjoyed a cheeseboard and wine. The basic cheeseboard comes with condiments, crackers and bread. We then added a number of cheeses. Everything was delicious. You can also choose various meats, a smoked fish board as well as small plates, wine and beer. There will soon be a learning center where tasting classes will be held. There is a shop to purchase wine and various food products. This is a fun and tasty way to spend some time!

The Maine Tasing Center had only been opened a few days when we visited in early July. I was very pleased with the food and drink selections. We had the cheese and meats plate and sampled a few more small plates and beverage offerings. We hope this establishment is supported and that I am able to return during next summer’s trip to Maine! It’s a great place for lunch or afternoon snacks!

We were looking for a dog-friendly winery and Maine Tasting Center appeared in our search. It’s not a winery, but actually better! All food and drinks showcase local Maine treats. The outside deck was lovely and they were very accommodating to our dog. But the surprise was how lovely the food and drinks were. We had a beer flight and wine flight — all local Maine choices. I particularly liked the Fogtown seaweed saison, which I probably would not have selected without the recommendation. So good that I bought a 4-pack to go! We had the lobster toast (open face grilled cheese with lobster!) which was delicious and we designed our own charcuterie board from a really large selection. The cheeses were great but the mushroom pate stole the show, it was so good that we also bought some to go. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. While we were enjoying our lunch, Sarah, the manager, made a few calls and gave us a list of dog-friendly wineries and breweries in the area. It was so unexpected and thoughtful. I highly recommend Maine Tasting Center whether you are staying in the area or just passing through.

The Garden Club of Wiscassett has had two events here in the last year - a lecture with speaker and a Tea. Both occasions were expertly handled by the staff which is actually a family affair. The Tea menu was very creative and delicious. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

This place is a perfect stop on your way up the coast OR if you are living right around the corner. After a couple of crazy days, I landed at the gorgeous Squire Tarbox Inn for a couple of days on Westport Island. While out searching for a bite to eat, I came across the Maine Tasting Center. The place is adorable with both outdoor and indoor seating (great wifi -- I could do some extra work), a fantastic little beer menu along with some delicious bites. It is expanding over the next couple of months, but it is going to be amazing! The staff was lovely and inviting and provided some great recommendations. Highly encourage anyone to stop for a quick respite or a meal!

Wow!!! What an awesome spot!! Maine has a wealth of small artisanal food producers making excellent products, but because of the size of the state, it can be heard to get to all of the producers. Maine Tasting Center does the hard work of sourcing great products and collecting them in one dining and drinking experience. The various boards (seafood, charcuterie) are excellent. Great vibe, great fun and great value.

What a cool new place! Beautiful bright open interior. Very casual but upscale at the same time. Owner operated. Dedicated to showcasing the best food and drink made in Maine. You get to make your own charcuterie - and there are some very unique options from smoked seafood to deviled eggs (the most amazing I’ve ever had!), cheeses, pickles, all sorts of awesome stuff. The beers and ciders and mead were all very different and good! The staff was very friendly and passionate.

We visited Maine Tasting Center and took the “Pairing Maine Craft Beer & Iconic Foods class. It was fun and educational at the same time! As a life-long Mainer I still learned some things about the Maine craft beer industry. The class was led by a Cicerone and he was assisted by another person (the owner’s mom, as it turns out) who helped prepare and serve the food pairings. The pairings were very good and some quite interesting.

Atlantic Brewing Company - Bar Harbor Real Ale (Brown)
Ployes Mix - Bouchard Family Farms
With Maple Syrup - Hilltop Boilers

Oxbow Brewing Company - Luppolo Pilsner
Fermented Seaweed Salad - Atlantic Sea Farms

Allagash Brewing Company - Allagash White
Maine Lobster - Pinkham's (Boothbay Harbor)—in a lobster roll

Nonesuch River Brewing - RED
Chipotle Smoked Mussels - Coldwater Seafood
Dill Crackers - Mill Cove Baking Co. with a seaweed and cream cheese spread

Airline Brewing Company - S.O.B (Extra Special Bitter)
Soldier Beans in Special Sauce - Bar Harbor Foods

Baxter Brewing - Stowaway IPA
Whoopie Pie - Hannaford Bakeries (though Wicked Who
ones that are pretty easy to find across the state!)

My favorite was the Airline Brewing beer and the baked beans. The bitterness of the beer changed noticeably when paired with the beans; it was a neat pairing!

Afterwards we were invited to have a full pour of whatever we wanted at the Tasting Center (we had the class in the Learning Center). I had a glass of the Airline Brewing SOB; it was my surprise hit of the day. We paired it with a charcuterie board that was excellent!

The class went from 12-2pm. I’d recommend this class and I’m sure those others are just as good!

This was such an interesting, educational and enjoyable class. Our guide, Sarah was so knowledgeable and easy to understand. It was very relaxed and we felt welcomed and comfortable. We asked questions and Sarah was able to clearly explain the answers to us as we sipped the delicious samples of Maine produced beers and ciders that were given. We highly recommend stopping here and taking any of the Flavors of Maine classes that they offer! Great experience!
