The Schoodic Ferry was an excellent experience. During our cruise, the Captain kept us informed about all the things we were seeing - geography, geology, marine biology, birds, mammals, history, local lore and more. Most informative and delightful experience.

There are two different ferries. One leaves from downtown Bar Harbor and one leaves from the College of the Atlantic on the edge of town. Both drop off at same point. The one that leaves from COTA takes reservations Other... More

No the ferry does not run all year. After researching the website, it looks like they run June thru the end of September.
