A must for every film lover in central Maine
Jul 2021
Railroad Square brought foreign and indie films to central Maine before we could stream them. The programming is great. The popcorn is way better than the chain theater stuff. I'd be lying if I said the seats were super comfy (although I hear they are moving...so maybe someday). Waterville is lucky to have the film festival in the summer. The films they show the rest of the year are worth a visit too.

Flagship - great movie theater
Feb 2020 • Friends
Watching a movie at Flagship is always a great experience. Their popcorn is always fresh. The seats are comfortable and it has good sound quality. The prices are competitive with other theaters..

Quaint cinema featuring unusual film presentations.Theaters are small with regular theater seats. This theater attracks an adult mature audiance.

Home of independent cinema
Aug 2019
The home of the Maine Film Festival and so many good independent films over the years! The seats may not be the most comfortable, but that is easily overlooked given the good flick vibes, the delicious popcorn, and the character of the place

Eclectic Films
Mar 2019 • Couples
Went to see “Arctic “ but noticed most of the offerings were “Indy” films, some with subtitles. Three small theaters and a smallish refreshment stand. Cozy and comfortable.

Non- Hollywood Alternative to mainstream movies
Nov 2018
Many new art house releases are shown with an emphasis on craft and on the acting. One benefit is the art featured on the walls. I like mainstream movies too but Railroad Square movies has movies that the big theaters don't show. Great popcorn with real butter.

Great movies and great atmosphere
Sep 2018 • Friends
I have been going to this theater for many years. If you are looking for that great Foreign film or something by an Independent film maker then this place is for you. They put out great promotional calendars that tells you what is playing up to 6 weeks ahead of time! Part of the Waterville film Festival in July that is very good! excellent popcorn and other snack items. They also give away some of their movie posters. A great little jewel in Central Maine

Save The Aisle Seats for Us

Independent film buffs, art film lovers, and those who enjoy movies that provoke thought will enjoy the selection of films shown at this theater. The seats may be a bit worn and some not as comfortable as others, but rarely is the show sold out so you can move around to find your fit. Art fills the lobby area; organic popcorn and an assortment of beverage are sold there too.

The film options are not the traditional fair, they are a notch above. Great film festival each summer. Nice vibe to the place.
